It’s Christmas time and GTA IV’s community has been hard at work creating some new, VIP cars. Although most – if not all – of them are spectacular, we tried to avoid flooding this post with cars. We only chose those that made our jaw drop to the floor. So, today we bring you new images from the custom ENBSeries settings and mods of mmikeyy, DenDi333, AlexFake, gtf323, Vlad_, opezdl, Simple999, Slixent, [FDC]NYZE.ONE, DarK64, and qhrzhdud. Enjoy! Man, this simply can’t be a simple coincidence. It’s pretty much clear that most of us want to see Half-Life 3 and it’s true that Valve has been hinting for it, but is that all we got? Apparently not as all hell has broken loose these past days. Forget the HL3 T-Shirt and the fact that Gabe Newell – that’s according to an insider so take it with a grain of salt – has given the green light to Valve’s employees to start hinting about the next Half-Life title. Yeah, those are quite good enough in order to assume that we’ll have some news about HL3 in 2012 but Valve themselves has given us lots of little hints and easter eggs these past days. Continue reading Are we that desperate for Half-Life 3 or is Valve truly hinting towards a 2012 reveal?→
It’s really sad that there are no triple-A studios willing to take advantage of CryEngine 3’s secret power. And thank God that Crytek released its SDK, as its community has managed to produce some astonishing results with it. So, today we bring you new screenshots from [LSD]Timewarp82, chicken, iSqueezee, Cinoshe, neo83_gr, USSR_GRAND, and blackhorizon. All of them are Crytek’s community members and prove with their work how versatile this engine can actually be. Enjoy! Continue reading Weekly CryEngine 3 Gallery [December 18th – 24th]→
There is no denying that Crysis’ vanilla lighting looks a bit dated nowadays. And although you can tweak the SSAO and bring to the table some amazing results, Crytek’s member ‘Wulfen’ uploaded a video that shows off his new lighting system and the amazing combination of it with Cry-Styves’ Shaders. This combo seems quite demanding – if we can judge by the footage that is choppy, though we don’t know the user’s test system – but it surely looks sexy. This lighting/shader combo boosts Crysis visuals to a whole new level, so be sure to check this out! There are no words to describe it so go ahead and watch it. Video – courtesy of Machinima – after the jump. Okay STALKER 2 fans, here is something that might make you happy and start jumping around your room. GSC GameWorld has tweeted that we’ll get some official news in mid January and that “there is cause for hope”. Which basically translates to “Hey, there is a chance we might not close and STALKER 2 might not get cancelled”. Make no mistake though. Yeah, it seems that there is light at the end of GSC’s tunnel but for all we know, this message could be GSC’s attempt at damage control, so hold your horses. For now at least. It seems that Rocksteady is currently working on a new PC patch for Batman: Arkham City, as Steam had accidentally released yesterday its preliminary version. So, if you were unlucky enough to try and play your game, you’d notice major game-breaking issues. Moreover, GFWL was not working properly with that preliminary patch and the game was – pretty much – unplayable. Naturally, Steam released a rollback update and the game is now back to its previous, stable state. Continue reading Rocksteady is working on a new PC patch for Batman: Arkham City→
