This Is Why Ubisoft Does Not Deserve PC Gamers’ Respect – Investing In F2P Model To Increase Revenue

You see, this is what is precisely wrong with today’s gaming industry. We PC gamers have criticised Ubisoft’s actions in the past – especially its controversial DRM – and hoped that the French company would listen and address those issues. We were not bashing Ubisoft because it’s the cool thing to do. No, we want a better gaming experience from the company that brought us Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six. In fact, we were hoping that Ubisoft would, somehow, treat us the way we should be treated in the first place. However, that won’t happen anytime soon. As GamesIndustry reported, Ubisoft is investing in free-to-play on PC, in a way to increase and guarantee revenue. Command & Conquer: Generals 2 won’t feature Single Player Campaign; fans create a petition for a proper PC game

Man, things are not looking good for Command & Conquer: Generals 2, the Frostbite 2 engine game that has joined EA’s F2P plans. Truth be told, we were looking forward to its Single Player mode as it had the potential to be as epic as ever, especially if we take into consideration the destructible environemnts that would be featured. Or at least that’s what we were hoping. However, SP fans are not EA’s target group. Bioware Victory’s general manager, John Van Caneghem, told PCGamer that the game will ship without a single player mode. Ubisoft reconfirms Assassin’s Creed 3 PC DX11 support; will feature Higher Resolution Textures

We seriously don’t know whether we should be excited about the following news or not. You see, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier PC was advertised as a great PC port from Ubisoft and what we got was an un-optimized console port that had major CPU issues/limitations. Not only that, but the DX11 features that were added were not polished and it took Ubisoft a couple of months to fix a number of performance issues. Therefore, the fact that Assassin’s Creed 3 will support DX11 features and higher resolution textures is both a good and a bad sign.
