Tales of New Reno fan expansion

Tales of New Reno is a new fan expansion for Fallout New Vegas

Modder ‘Cellblock Psycho’ has released a new DLC-sized fan expansion for Fallout: New Vegas, called Tales of New Reno. As with all fan expansions, it adds some new quests, new weapons, optional companions, and a new worldspace. So, let’s take a closer look at it.

Going into more details, Tales of New Reno – Episode Zero adds a new settlement with a redesigned and repopulated Bonnie Springs. It also includes several new weapons, four long main quests, and optional companions. Plus, there’s a new worldspace you can explore anytime and a few small side quests.

As the modder noted, his goal for this mod was to create a highly replayable experience. As such, there are multiple ways to complete your quest objectives. There are also many hidden paths the player can uncover, as well as multiple endings and branching paths.

For those unaware, there was an older version of this mod for FNV. So, basically, this is a remake of that older mod, also known as Tales of New Reno: Episode Zero. Moreover, the modder plans to give the rework treatment to Episode One as well. So, once you complete Episode Zero, you should wait for the remake of Episode One.

You can download the mod from this link. At the end of the article, you can also find a video for it. Do note that this video shows off the first main quest. So, if you want to experience the whole mod yourself, you should skip it.

If you are into Fallout: New Vegas, you can also try these other mods for it. For instance, this mod adds real-time reflections. Another one changes over 1,000 functions to make the game run smoother. Oh, and there’s a mod that reduces landscape texture seams. Plus, there’s a mod to make the game’s characters even smarter. Another must-have mod is this one which improves collision accuracy, and fixes/optimizes meshes.

In June 2024, we shared a mod that brought to the game some STALKER-like anomalies. Moreover, you can get this mod that adds physically-based vehicles to the game. And if you love quests, there’s a mod that gives you an endless supply of new ones. Let’s also not forget Visuals Improved Content Expanded Mod. This mod fills the surroundings of Vegas to make it feel more like a real city.

There are also some cool fan-made expansions for New Vegas. Four of them are being made as we speak. These are Fallout: Broken CityFallout Van buren RemakeFallout: Nuevo Mexico and Star Wars Open Worlds. On the other hand, we have these DLC-sized mods that you can grab and play right now. These fan expansion mods are Fallout New CaliforniaFallout: Free Cheyenne DemoFallout New Vegas: Out of BoundsFallout The Frontier and Retribution 2. There is also a demo of another fan remake mod for the canceled Fallout 3 game, called Fallout Revelation Blues.

It’s pretty incredible to see all these DLC-sized mods for Fallout New Vegas. FNV came out in 2010. And, after 15 years, its modding community is still going strong. So, more power to all FNV modders out there.
