Warner Bros has released a new set of screenshots for The Lord Of The Rings Online. These screenshots show new landscape creatures and troops from the three major factions that are running rampant over the plains of Rohan: the White Hand, Mordor and the Easterlings. These factions are: enemies bearing the sign of the White Hand serve Saruman the Betrayer, who commands them from his stronghold of Isengard, the Goblins and Uruks that carry the mark of the Great Eye are servants of Sauron and evil men of Rhun driven back across the Great River centuries ago by the might of the Rohirrim. We’ve said it in the past and will say it again – path (and ray) tracing is the future for gaming graphics. Following the previous showcase of the Brigade 2 Engine, Hayssam Keilany has shared two news screenshots from this new engine that showcase an indoor environment and a chess game. Naturally, there is that noise/grain effect due to path tracing but forget about it for a second and pay attention to the refraction of light and the reflections in that particular indoor environment. Set in the iconic Dungeons & Dragons city of Neverwinter, this free-to-play MMORPG will take players from the besieged walls of the city, once known as The Jewel of The North, to subterranean passageways in search of forgotten secrets and lost treasure. Codemasters has released a new set of screenshots for its upcoming F1 racing game, F1 2012. In addition, PC gamers can go ahead and download its demo from Steam. F1 2012 is set to deliver the most accessible and immersive FORMULA ONE game for fans of all abilities. Our weekly Skyrim gallery is dedicated to Skyrimnexus member ‘DEZZZ.’ DEZZZ has created some of the best Skyrim concept arts we’ve ever seen, and we are pretty sure that a next-generation Elder Scrolls game could look similar to these following images. That’s a stretch – to be honest – but imagine when we have games looking this good. Let’s not forget that Skyrim can look gorgeous with some custom ENBSeries mods, so – being optimistic here – there is a high chance to get this kind of visuals in our games sooner than expected. Ubisoft and Techland have revealed a new screenshot from Call of Juarez: Gunslinger. Call of Juarez: Gunslinger is developed by Techland, is powered by the company’s in-house engine and is said to set new records for digital-only titles. Gunslinger is currently planned for a 2013 release on PC, X360 and PS3, and will be a real homage to the Wild West tales as it will tell the untold truth behind some of the greatest legends of the Old West. MaLDo has released a new set of comparison shots between Crysis 2 DX11 Ultra and Crysis 2 with his upcoming Texture Pack. According to the modder, this new version of MaLDoHD will be released soon and as you can see, MaLDo went one step further and corrected some issues that plagued Crytek’s first-person title. Scenes have been tweaked, tessellation effects have been improved, decals have been replaced and new lights have been added to various places. Hayssam Keilany, best known for his iCEnhancer mods, has shared a new video that showcases the real-time path tracing lighting of the Brigade 2 Engine. Unfortunately, the video is not in HD quality (and the compression method that has been used is mediocre at best) and let’s not forget that this method of path tracing adds a noise effect that might annoy some of you.
