MaLDo has released a new set of comparison shots between Crysis 2 DX11 Ultra and Crysis 2 with his upcoming Texture Pack. According to the modder, this new version of MaLDoHD will be released soon and as you can see, MaLDo went one step further and corrected some issues that plagued Crytek’s first-person title. Scenes have been tweaked, tessellation effects have been improved, decals have been replaced and new lights have been added to various places. Oddworld Inhabitants and Just Add Water have finally released the HD version of Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath for the PC. Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath HD comes as a free update and weights around 3GB. Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath HD was originally meant to hit PC in March 2012, but was slightly delayed. Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath HD has moved on to DirectX (the original version ran on OpenGL), and there’s a 30% sale until Midnight PST on Monday the 17th of September. Bethesda has released the third developer documentary for Arkane Studios’ Dishonored. In this video, the team at Arkane Studios discuss the game’s depth of player choice. Dishonored casts you as a supernatural assassin driven by revenge. Creatively eliminate your targets with the flexible combat system as you combine supernatural abilities with weapons and gadgets at your disposal. Bohemia has released Take On Helicopters: Rearmed, a free official DLC for Take On Helicopters. This DLC seamlessly merges Arma 2 and Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead content into the game. Players will be able to fly their helicopter over the gorgeous autumn landscape of Chernarus, dodge incoming fire from a myriad of Anti-Air weapon systems, and fight in massive combined arms operations. Xaviant is currently developing a new game – powered by CryEngine 3 – that is called Lichdom. The company has released a target video for it (from its Riftwood Region) and as they’ve stated, this was the first of three “visual target” scenes they produced to set the bar for their visuals, determine technical boundaries, define animation quality, and demonstrate audio fidelity. It’s interesting to note that this target scene was built in about five weeks with six different disciplines contributing heavily, proving that such visuals can be achieved without wasting a lot of resources or of the team’s valuable time. Ubisoft has released a new video for Assassin’s Creed III that sheds some light on what it takes to redesign one of gaming’s most iconic franchises from the ground up. Part three in a four-part documentary series, Inside Assassin’s Creed III: Episode Three is all about Connor, the all-new hero of mixed British and Native American ancestry on a mission to save his homeland. Contrary to Altair and Ezio, Connor is more of a warrior and knows parkour. Ubisoft has also re-designed the climbing system and it seems that this new game will be more action oriented than its predecessors. Enjoy!
