League of Legends hits new milestone; over four million people play it on daily basis

Riot Games today announced that over four million people play League of Legends every day – an increase of 280% since Riot last announced the size of its community in July 2011. With 11.5 million monthly active players, peak concurrency reaching 1.3 million, and a registered player base of over 30 million worldwide, League of Legends is about to enter its second competitive season as one of the top five PC games in North America and Europe. Enemy Front is a new, WW2, FPS that is powered by CryEngine 3

City Interactive revealed today the first details for Enemy Front, the company’s ambitious new game project that is being developed on the CryENGINE 3 game engine for PS3, X360 and PC.  Developed by the company’s UK and Poland studios, Enemy Front is a gritty first-person shooter (FPS) rich in action, combat and detail that takes players back to the carnage and chaos of WWII. Path of Exile enters second phase of Closed Beta

Indie game studio Grinding Gear Games has announced that their anticipated online action RPG, Path of Exile, has entered the second phase of its exclusive closed beta and will now open the beta up to significantly more testers. Moreover, Grinding Gear Games has just deployed a major beta patch that adds new areas, skills and enemies and rebalances the entire game. Telltale Employees caught posting 10/10 User Reviews for their own Jurassic Park: The Game

This is really sad. Jurassic Park: The Game has the potential to be a sleeper hit, so there is definitely no reason for Telltale’s employees to try and ‘cheat’ gamers by submitting 10/10 reviews on Metacritic. Yeap, after BioWare’s employees, Telltale’s employees were caught posting user reviews on Metacritic. To be more precise, one user interface artist and one cinematic artist were those that were caught posting 10/10 reviews. All we had to do was to ‘google’ their names and find their LinkedIn profiles. According to those profiles, both of them are working on Telltale, though they are relatively new to the studio. Anno 2070 is now available on Steam

It’s funny but I’m glad that both Batman: Arkham City and Assassin’s Creed: Revelations got delayed. In fact, I really wish that both Arkham City and Serious Sam 3 would be delayed until December as November was full of new releases. Populous 2 is now available on Good Old Games

Here is some great news for all retro fans out there. Populous II: Trials of the Olympian Gods, Bullfrog’s highly acclaimed strategy game is now available on Good Old Games. Populous II is more versatile and has more “divine intervention” effects than its predecessor. Populous would only bestow eight powers on the player but the sequel has thirty. Sony Online Entertainment will soon launch its second Downloadable Content pack for DC Universe Online with the worldwide release of Lightning Strikes, later this year. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s sales are astounding; $775 million in five days

Activision announced today that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 has shattered theatrical box office, book and video game sales records for five-day worldwide sell-through in dollars.
