Pixelbionic announced that David Jaffe, legendary creator of Twisted Metal and God of War, has joined the company’s advisory board as a Creative Advisor for its inaugural project, vehicular combat game Autoduel. Jaffe is the latest addition to Pixelbionic’s development ‘Dream Team’, assembled for the game by co-founders Maxx Kaufman – a founding member of InXile Entertainment and Art Director of Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Kingpin: Life of Crime and The Bard’s Tale, and Mike Arkin – a Studio Head and Producer with over 150 published titles, including Die Hard Trilogy, Battlezone and the Tokyo Xtreme Racer series. Yesterday, we posted our opinion about Jason Rubin’s story regarding 4A Games and the environment this studio has been working on. According to Rubin, ‘4A’s staff sat on folding wedding chairs, literally elbow to elbow at card tables in what looks more like a packed grade school cafeteria than a development studio.’ However, it seems that Rubin exaggerated as 4A Games’ office is… well… fine and not as bad as what Rubin made it look like. I mean, where exactly is the ‘elbow to elbow’ thing in that environment. Sure, this office cannot compete with those of Ubisoft, Konami or EA. But it’s not as bad as Rubin claimed. Gameforge announced today its intention to release the online first-person shooter S.K.I.L.L. – Special Force 2 in Europe. This new FPS promises to offer numerous weapons and equipment, individually customisable characters, varied maps and a grand selection of varying game modes. Warner Bros has released a teaser trailer for its upcoming Batman title, Batman: Arkham Origins. Batman: Arkham Origins features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline occurring several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. Taking place before the rise of Gotham City’s most dangerous villains and assassins, the game showcases a young, raw, unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight. 4A Games was quick to react to the criticism surrounding Metro: Last Light and has released the first update for its title. This update fixes various issues with AMD’s hardware, and improves performance for these cards. In addition, the company is now giving everyone the ability to adjust the FOV to their liking, though we should note that this workaround may introduce some graphical anomalies. Brutal Doom is perhaps the best mod for id Software’s classic FPS. And as we informed you back in December 2012, talented modder ‘SGtMarkIV’ is working on a Brutal version for Raven Software’s classic title, Hexen.
