This Is Why Ubisoft Does Not Deserve PC Gamers’ Respect – Investing In F2P Model To Increase Revenue

You see, this is what is precisely wrong with today’s gaming industry. We PC gamers have criticised Ubisoft’s actions in the past – especially its controversial DRM – and hoped that the French company would listen and address those issues. We were not bashing Ubisoft because it’s the cool thing to do. No, we want a better gaming experience from the company that brought us Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six. In fact, we were hoping that Ubisoft would, somehow, treat us the way we should be treated in the first place. However, that won’t happen anytime soon. As GamesIndustry reported, Ubisoft is investing in free-to-play on PC, in a way to increase and guarantee revenue. DICE has entered the Dark Side – Lied to gamers about Battlefield 3’s Mod Tools

Remember back in July 2011, when DICE claimed that Frostbite 2 was too complex and that was the reason why they did not release mod tools for Battlefield 3? Well, they were lying. We knew back then that there was something fishy but our guess was that DICE decided to lock Battlefield 3, because the release of those mod tools would ruin their DLC plans. We were partially right, as the company had planned BF3’s DLCs long before the game’s launch. However, it seems that there was and another reason that forced DICE to lie when it came to the game’s modding tools. Splinter Cell: Blacklist – Extended Gamescom 2012 Walkthrough – This Is Why You Should Not Get Disappointed

Ubisoft has released a new, extended walkthrough of Splinter Cell: Blacklist and the level that was demonstrated was the same one that appeared in this year’s E3. This walkthrough is centered around the action path of Splinter Cell: Blacklist and although Ubisoft stated that there will be a stealth approach in almost every mission, most Splinter Cell fans will be furious with what the company has done to their amazing franchise. However, this is why you should not get disappointed. Continue reading Splinter Cell: Blacklist – Extended Gamescom 2012 Walkthrough – This Is Why You Should Not Get Disappointed

Codemasters unashamedly lying to its fans; claims they’re getting everything possible from consoles

Now here is why we need next-generation hardware everyone. Following yesterday’s news about the lack of a cockpit view in GRID 2, Codemasters’ Clive Moody went ahead and tried to explain some things about it. However, Moody’s statement basically proves how limited this current generation of consoles actually is and how troubled game developers are when developing for them. How Epic Games has managed to slip the chance of getting PC gaming back to their side

I seriously didn’t expect to be writting such an editorial piece… again. You see, when Epic Games announced that they were developing a PC game, we were delighted. Like little kids, we imagined a new Unreal Tournament game or a triple-A FPS/third person title that would push the graphical boundaries. In fact, after both Unreal Engine 4’s and Unreal Engine 3’s demonstration, we’d expecting for something mind-blowing. A Blade Runner game, powered by Unreal Engine 4? Who would say no to that? Fast forward a couple of months and here we are today, with Epic Games finally revealing the game that will be coming exclusively on the PC. Crytek is currently focusing on DX11, leaked documents from its private E3 2012 presentation

A while back, we informed you about the day-one DX11 support of Crysis 3. Naturally, PC gamers were a bit sceptical about it as Crytek had stated that very same thing for Crysis 2. However, things are a bit different this time around as the studio is currently focusing on the DX11 features of CryEngine 3. During this year’s E3, Crytek held a VIP tech presentation in which they showcased the DX11 features that will be implemented in CryEngine 3. Mass Effect 3: Extended Cut features satisfying endings, answers most major plot holes

BioWare has finally released the Extended Cut DLC for Mass Effect 3 and to our surprise, it does answer most of the major questions and plot holes that were introduced in the final five minutes. As we thought, the Extended Cut focuses on Shepard’s companions and shows some scenes to explain things that confused ME3’s fans. However, there are still some major plot holes that have been not answered and that’s a major blow to BioWare. Not only that, but the Indocrination theory – a theory that explained a lot of all those unanswered questions – has been blown out of the water as the company included various cut-scenes to prove that Shepard was not indocrinated.
