And the time has finally come. Time Crisis was one of my favourite 3D light-gun rail arcade shooters. If memory serves well, it was one of the first games that had a cover mechanic with a pedal. And now, after three whole decades, we have an unofficial PC version of it.
This unofficial PC version is part of the “Namco System 22 games for PC” initiative. This project aims to bring to PC most, if not all, arcade games that used the Namco System 22 system.
Namco System 22 games for PC, also known as namco22-decompile, currently supports five games. These are Time Crisis, Rave Racer, Dirt Dash, Tokyo Wars, and Prop Cycle. These games run better than MAME. They do not require a Namco System 22 Arcade BIOS, and they offer some QoL improvements. For instance, they support widescreen aspect ratios, as well as resolutions up to 4K.
What’s great about this unofficial PC port of Time Crisis is that it has mouse support from the get-go. It also supports lightguns. As such, PC gamers can get an amazing gaming experience.
Now look, I know that MAME also supports mouse for pretty much all the arcade light-gun shooters. However, with this unofficial PC port, you can run the game at 4K. We also get support for widescreen PC monitors. As such, this is the definitive way to play Time Crisis in 2026.
You can go ahead and download namco22-decompile from this link. The project does not contain any in-game assets for any of the aforementioned games. As such, you’ll have to provide your own ROM files to play them.
In case you are into unofficial PC ports of console-exclusive games, you might want to try the following ones. Right now, you can download the unofficial PC ports of Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Crash Team Racing, and Duke Nukem: Zero Hour. You can also play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, Majora’s Mask, Perfect Dark, and Jak & Daxter. Earlier today, I also shared an unofficial PC version of The Simpsons Game.
Furthermore, Brian Tate has brought the three classic SNES Donkey Kong Country games to PC. For our SNES fans, we also have a PC port of Star Fox. We also got a PC port of F-Zero. So, since we’ve already gotten a few SNES games, I’d really love to see a PC version of Jurassic Park with KB&M support and HD textures. Now that would be awesome.
In September 2026, we shared a lot of unofficial PC ports. So, you can download and enjoy on PC Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link, WET, The Darkness, Spider-Man: Edge of Time, Mercenaries, GTA: Liberty City Stories, Fable 2, Burnout Revenge, Super Mario Strikers, and Lost Odyssey.
And that’s not all of them. We also have the unofficial PC ports of Mario Party 4, Sonic Unleashed, GoldenEye 007, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Silent Hill, and Super Smash Bros. 64. Last month, we shared the unofficial PC ports of Gears of War 2 and Syphon Filter. In August 2026, we shared the PC ports of Diddy Kong Racing and Ace Combat 6. Let’s also not forget the unofficial PC versions of Wave Race 64, Blue Dragon, and Pikmin. Finally, you can download the PC ports of Ninja Gaiden 2, Super Smash Bros. Melee, Tekken 3, and Mario Kart Wii.
Stay tuned for more!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
