Nintendo PC fans, here is something for you today. An unofficial PC version of the Nintendo GameCube classic, Pikmin, has just been released. This unofficial PC version runs the game code directly on the host system and translates GX to OpenGL. Moreover, it does not use Dolphin or any emulator, meaning that this is a proper native PC version.
What’s cool here is that the PC version of Pikmin offers three framerate options. PC gamers can choose between 30FPS, 60FPS, or 120FPS. These framerate settings are selectable from the in-game menu.
Not only that, but we have support for widescreen monitors. The HUD is laid out for 16:9 rather than stretched, and the 3D view culls to the same shape, so nothing pops in and out at the sides.
We also get some PC graphics settings. PC gamers can enable or disable antialiasing, restored fog, bloom, ambient occlusion, depth of field, texture filtering, and colour grading.
Finally, the PC version of Pikmin supports keyboard and mouse controls. This is a huge deal and a great quality-of-life improvement. So, I hope more upcoming unofficial PC ports of console games have day-one keyboard and mouse support.
You can download Pikmin PC from here. As with all recompilations, it does not contain any in-game assets. So, to use it, you’ll have to provide your own ROM file. The project supports both Pikmin USA Rev 1 and Pikmin Europe.
In case you are into projects like these, you can also download the unofficial PC ports of Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Crash Team Racing, and Duke Nukem: Zero Hour. You can also play The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Perfect Dark, and Jak & Daxter.
Furthermore, Brian Tate has brought the three classic SNES Donkey Kong Country games to PC. For our SNES fans, we also have a PC port of Star Fox. And, since we’ve already gotten four SNES games, I’d really love to see a PC version of Jurassic Park with KB&M support and HD textures. Now that would be awesome.
And that’s not all of them. We also have the unofficial PC ports of Mario Party 4, Sonic Unleashed, GoldenEye 007, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Silent Hill, and Super Smash Bros 64. Last month, we shared the unofficial PC ports of Gears of War 2 and Syphon Filter. Earlier this month, we shared the PC ports of Diddy Kong Racing and Ace Combat 6. Finally, you can download the unofficial PC versions of Wave Race 64, Blue Dragon, Tekken 3, Mario Kart Wii, and Pokemon Crystal.
Have fun!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
