Elden Ring N64 Demake

You Can Play a Cool Nintendo 64 Demake Demo of Elden Ring

Now here is something really cool. YouTube’s ‘BoxingBruin’ has shared a demo for a Nintendo 64 demake of Elden Ring. This demake is playable on real hardware as well as on PC via the ARES emulator.

Going into more details, this tech demo has a Souls-like Boss AI with many different attacks and animations. We also get a real-time cinematic cut-scene, as well as a cut-scene that plays as a video.

The demo uses a 32-bit framebuffer for cleaner graphics. We also get a distance-based SFX system, a dialogue system, and scrolling textures on a skinned mesh.

The demake has a character controller with many different animation states, with a lock-on mechanism. There is also a weapon collision system that can use a mix of different types of colliders. Almost entirely 64×64 textures with vertex colors for higher res. Plus, we get new assets and music that were created from scratch.

In short, this is a great N64 Tech Demo that aims to give us an idea of what an Elden Ring-like game could look like. This is something that a lot of old-school fans will find cool.

You can go ahead and download it from this link. Below, you can also find a video for it. This video details its development process and packs some gameplay sequences from it. So, if you don’t have enough free time to play it, you can at least watch its video.

If you are into demakes, I also suggest taking a look at the following ones. Back in June 2022, 64 Bits shared a 16-bit SNES demake video for Elden Ring. And let’s not forget this cool SNES demake for Warframe. Then, in August 2023, we shared a 32-bit demake for Tomb Raider: Legend. A few days ago, we also shared a NEO-GEO/Arcade Demake video for Helldivers 2. You can also find demake videos for Cyberpunk 2077Resident Evil 5The Witcher 3, and Resident Evil 4.

You can also download some other free fan demakes. For instance, there is an amazing Portal Demake for N64 you can try. Then we have this Quake 4 in Quake 1 Demake. Dead Space and Resident Evil 4 also received cool PSX Demakes, so be sure to download them from here and here. Earlier this week, we also shared a 16-bit demake demo for Final Fantasy 16. Let’s also not forget this 16-bit demake of Mega Man X8. Finally, you can download this Silent Hills P.T. Demake in GZDoom. All of them are cool, so be sure to get them. But sadly, the demake of Bloodborne is no longer available for download.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
