Digital Dreams has shared a new video, showcasing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim with over 1000 mods and Reshade Ray Tracing. This video will give you an idea of what a heavily modded version of Skyrim looks like on modern PCs. So, go ahead and take a look at it.
Now what’s great here is that the modder has shared the entire list of mods they have used. And yes, they are indeed over 1000 mods. Moreover, they have used Reshade in order to apply RTGI. This Reshade solution is not as good or polished as native RTGI. Despite that, it can enhance the game’s graphics.
To capture this video, Digital Dreams used an AMD Ryzen 9 7950X with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090. At Native 4K with all these mods, the RTX 4090 was able to stay above 60fps at all times. Even during combat or in towns, the framerate never dropped below 65fps.
I’m certain that the YouTuber did not use PureDark’s DLSS 3 Mod. By using it, PC gamers should be able to achieve higher framerates in this heavily modded version of Skyrim.
And I get it. Skyrim is a really old game. However, this heavily modded version actually looks great. Not only that but you can remove Reshade RTGI and gain a major performance increase. Because the biggest performance culprit here is Reshade RTGI and not the 1000 mods.
You can find here the full list of mods that Digital Dreams used.
Speaking of Skyrim, here are some big fan expansions for it. Wyrmstooth is one of them, adding new quests and dungeons to the game. This other mod brings elements from The Witcher games into Skyrim. Dragon Hall Tavern is a huge 2GB mod that adds quests, new places, an arena, and more. Then there’s Land of Vominhem, Apotheosis and Legacy of the Dragonborn. Don’t forget to also check out this Castlevania-inspired mod. Oh, and here is another one that adds the cool Nemesis system from Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor to it. Lastly, we have this mod that adds six new islands to explore.
You might also find these other mods for it interesting. This Call of Duty Mod adds to the game 12 new fully functional weapons from it. Then we have this mod that adds to Skyrim over 7000 voiced lines via AI. There is also this mod that adds to the game The Witcher 3 Ciri/Geralt Voices. Another cool mod is this one that adds destructible objects to the game. Oh, and let’s also not forget this mod that adds unlimited dynamic light sources.

Cover TR1-3 remaster instead of this.
Such a massive release for classic games and no coverage, wtf
Why? It’s getting plenty of coverage elsewhere.
That kind of basic-bitch crap isn’t the focus of this site.
Go back to fagfest(dot)com or whatever your favorite site is, I’m you’ll be glued to the monitor for hours, fools…
looks like they just updated the character models, and kept old the background renders. you can switch between the old character models, and the new ones with a press of a key.

There are two modes.
Remaster: This mode has full new models, textures, lighting, shaders, shadows, water, etc. etc.
Classic: It’s better, fixed, fully working classic version.
Nah man, it’s more than that while keeping the blocky environments, but even those were revamped in some setpieces. The results are phenomenal in a modern retro style.
Check out Digital Foundry’s showcase or Nick930 even more in depth video about it, it’s refreshing to the soul.
We’ve already shared comparison screenshots between the remasters and the original versions -> https://www.dsogaming.com/screenshot-news/tomb-raider-i-iii-remastered-vs-original-screenshots-comparison/
Yeah, I don’t need this, I’m already at Atlantis level. I figured it must have been a slow news day.
boring af
No amount of mods can fix the wooden combat*, terrible AI, terrible dialogues, poor plot and characters, and mediocre quests at best.
Skyrim is the same mess as Starfield, but strangely enough only Starfield gets blamed.
*
There were and are some attempts, for better combat system in Skyrim, but you need multiple mods collection, and pray to RNG gods, that the game will even start.
Most of the time the game is bugged, not compatible with different languages etc. etc..
skyrim was great for its time and relatively a lot less woke
That puts you in a small minority along with myself. I played through the story, a lot of the quests and both expansions and never went back.
imo the best two ES games were Oblivion and Morrowind.
After the Fallout 76 and Starfield releases I’m not expecting much from ES VI. I hope that I turn out to be wrong on that though.
man I loved morrowind put about 300 hours on it on the original xbox.
Skyrim had a vast varied world to explore and that was, it was bland and boring as hell, but probably mostly for older guys like me that had played Morrowind in its time and had already been disappointed at how Oblivion was a washed sequel, so this was doubling on the offense. There was no comparison. I agree, nothing can fix it, like Starfield as you mentioned, which gets a ton more flak because it was released 12 years after Skyrim and several others washed and broken games.
DSOGAMING wouldnt be DSOGAMING if John wouldnt post Skyrim mod videos and articles… what number is this ? i lost count at 3784690
Slight correction: it wouldn’t be DSOG if John wasn’t posting Skyrim mod videos originally uploaded by others. If these videos were his own it’d be something else.
Yeah it’s amazing the longevity of this game for some people. I remember playing it a lot when it came out and the expansions but never really modded it, got bored eventually. I try here and there to go back since it’s been reported for the mods so much but just get bored after an hour or so, just done there. Some games don’t need mods really, some do like cp77 needs mods to fix many of the bugs and deliberate terrible choices by cpdurtards, and add some more gameplay to it, the clothes fetishists, some well done cars and bikes add ons, luts-envs can add to the atmosphere as you like. RS has never been mod friendly so it’s limited but I’ve got a few for rdr2.
Im curious, how long took to install those 1000 mods…

Yeah well, but maybe 1100 is the magic number, you never know. Waiting for next article to confirm.
Welp, lets hope SF gets as much modding love as SR got and still gets.
And unlike some commenters, I enjoyed SR, I put over 100hrs into it. FO4 was better and I have over 200hrs+ on that, but since then Bethesday have been getting worse with thier releases.
The coast area looked the nicest.
What a wonderful blog! Each post is a gift to the mind and heart.
1,000 mods is such a waste of time… At least this time it doesn’t seem to be some guy trying to make money off a list of other peoples’ mods, so that’s a step up.
00 mods red dead looks better
certainly like your website but you need to take a look at the spelling on quite a few of your posts Many of them are rife with spelling problems and I find it very troublesome to inform the reality nevertheless I will definitely come back again
I have read some excellent stuff here Definitely value bookmarking for revisiting I wonder how much effort you put to make the sort of excellent informative website
