Skyrim Rorikstead in Unreal Engine 5.7

Take a look at Skyrim’s Rorikstead in Unreal Engine 5.7

YouTube’s “Leo Torres” has shared a new video, showcasing Skyrim’s Rorikstead in Unreal Engine 5.7 with Lumen and Nanite. This video can give you a glimpse at what Skyrim could look like in a modern-day engine. So, if you are a fan of this Bethesda RPG, you should definitely watch it.

This project is part of an effort to create a more realistic and lore-accurate version of Tamriel. According to Torres, the sleepy little farming village of Rorikstead now has sixteen times the detail of the original version.

The artist made this scene in Unreal Engine 5.7.1 using an RTX 3090 GPU. Torres mixed third-party models with custom assets he created in Blender. He used Nanite for all the models and plants, and Lumen for the lighting and reflections. Interestingly enough, Torres used TSR for anti-aliasing. In his previous videos, he used DLAA. So, I don’t know why he decided to use TSR for this.

For anyone wondering, no, you can’t download this fan-made Skyrim remake. These videos are only created for the artist’s portfolio. If you want to try Skyrim in Unreal Engine 5, there is another option. Greg Coulthard has made a project that puts the entire Skyrim map into Unreal Engine 5.6. However, unlike Leo Torres’ videos, this project does not fully use all the advanced features of UE5. Most of the assets are the same ones from the original Skyrim.

I also recommend watching the other Skyrim UE5 videos the artist has shared. Thus far, Torres has recreated Sovngarde, MarkarthBlackreachWhiterunSolitudeWinterholdFalkreathRiftenWindhelmMorthalRiverwoodHelgen, and Dawnstar. So, in a way, you get to see what a full proper remake of Skyrim could look like. All of them look pretty cool.

Speaking of Unreal Engine 5, I recommend trying out these free fan-made demos. You can grab a Superman UE5 Demo, a Halo 3: ODST Remake, and a Spider-Man UE5 Demo. There’s also a fan-made version of STALKER in Unreal Engine 5. If you love old-school FPS games, you should check out this remake of the classic FPS Blood in Epic’s engine. For Mario fans, we have this cool Super Mario Galaxy Tech Demo in Unreal Engine 5.

And that’s not all. There is a cool remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s Halo level in UE5 that you can download. Or how about this free Attack on Titan game? Then we have the fan remakes for Dino Crisis 2 and MediEvil 2. Plus, there is an amazing fan remake of Sonic Adventure 2, called Sonic Adventure 2 Redux. Zelda fans can get this fan remake of Ocarina of Time. Oh, and let’s not forget the amazing ports of Skyrim and Oblivion.

Owners of high-end GPUs can also try these three tech demos. The first one features a Witcher-like environment. The second shows off a Rome Italian Town.  The third is the Venice Tech Demo we shared a few days ago. We also have a demo of King’s Field 2 in UE5, as well as a remake of Konami’s canceled PT. Finally, we have The Lord of the Rings: Conquest Reimagined in Unreal Engine 5, a remake of Flappy Bird, a demo for Need for Speed: Underground 2, and a Diablo 2 Remake Demo. They all look awesome, so be sure to give them a try.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
