Aion – Free-to-play Stats; more than 750K accounts created, 20K accounts every day

Gameforge announced today the first batch of figures for their free-to-play MMORPG, Aion. According to the stats, more than 750,000 accounts have been created on the Gameforge servers. Currently, around 20,000 new accounts are adding to this figure every day. The Karlsruhe-based company is also able to show a growth in the number of active daily users: since the release of the Free-to-Play version these numbers have increased fivefold already. With only four weeks of running time, AION has seamlessly added itself to the Gameforge portfolio, alongside other internationally successful titles such as Metin 2 and Ikariam. AION goes free-to-play in Europe on February 28th

Gameforge announced today that AION will switch to free-to-play on the 28th of February 2012 . The change-over will occur simultaneously for the German, French and English language versions. AION Free-to-Play comes with Polished Levelling, Better Graphics, and More Challenges

Gameforge has revealed the new features that were implemented in the latest, free-to-play version of AION. According to the company, new features and functions have been added, and some MMO essentials have been adjusted, such as new instances, a better rewards system, more opportunities for levelling up through quests, and innovations such as the mentor system, from which beginners as well as experienced veterans can benefit. Gameforge, Europe’s leading developer and publisher of online games, today revealed details about the account model for fantasy MMO Aion. Aion goes free-to-play in February

Great news for all MMO fans as AION is going free-to-play in February in Europe. According to NCSoft, this is an attempt to boost the player numbers as the lands in Atreia have become more and more deserted in the last few years. As the company stated, they have teamed up with the German publisher Gameforge for the switch-over.
