Co-located and taking place alongside Europe’s leading gamescom trade fair, GDC Europe will again provide the essential pan-European perspective on game development and business trends throughout the continent by gathering the world’s leading game industry professionals to discuss timely and relevant topics across platforms and disciplines. Now in its fifth year, GDC Europe will run Monday through Wednesday, August 19-21 at the Cologne Congress-Centrum Ost in Cologne, Germany. E3 is almost around the corner, and this year it seems that PC fans will have a few reasons to get excited about. Okay okay, they also had reasons to be happy last year (as most of the multi-platform games were showcased on PCs) but Epic Games’ Mark Rein expects to see lots of great PC-specific games in this year’s E3, something that is – obviously – awesome to hear. Hilarious. EA’s chief technology officer, Rajat Taneja, claimed that Xbox One and PS4 are a generation ahead of the highest-end PCs currently available on the market. We all know that EA wants to simply promote next-gen consoles at this point, however we are a bit surprised – pleasantly – by both Brian Fargo and Epic Games’ Mark Rein who called bullshit on those claims.
