Ah, the good old Crysis. Such an amazing game and although its SDK was released almost immediately, we haven’t gotten any noteworthy total conversion. There were some in the works that have been cancelled, while others have moved on to Crysis 2. So it’s natural to get excited with the work of modder ‘mrdavid’, the man behind Dark Energy. Cheaters. We’ve played against them, we hate them. These people are the main reason we’ve stopped playing BF3 and thankfully, DICE has already started taking care of them. We knew that the company has been banning some of them and we are happy to report that this week, DICE has banned a significant number of BF3 cheaters. This is reasurring – to say the least – and we hope that the company will keep it up. After all, Battlefield 3 was full of cheaters these past weeks. Our dear friends at PCGamesHardware had the chance to interview Starbreeze and found out some juicy tech details about the upcoming Syndicate game. According to the company, Syndicate uses an advanced and evolved in-house engine, that comes with a global illumination solution and an optimized postprocessing pipeline. Sadly though, Syndicate won’t support the DX10 or DX11 API’s. And there is no need to point your gun to Starbreeze, as this is what we’ve expected. Syndicate is a multi-platform game (therefore it’s built on DX9 by default) and as we’ve said in the past, a proper DX11 game needs to be built from the get-go with that API in mind. Continue reading PC version of Syndicate won’t support DX10/11; multi-core CPUs will be better supported→
Okay, I’m totally amazed by Crysis 2’s modder ‘Chrome235’ work. Chrome235 is developing a mod for Crysis 2 called Arthias. Arthias is a Sci-Fi adventure which will tell a deep, complex, and comes with gorgeous graphics. Seriously, the amount of detail is astonishing and I can’t believe that this mod is developed by one and only man. The work that has been put on it is incredible and you’ll find bellow some screenshots and videos from it. Seriously Crytek, just hire this fella. Just…wow. 38 Studios and Electronic Arts have released the demo of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning and, well, it was not as good as we’d hoped to. We bet that some of you were also annoyed by its camera angle, as well as some other, various issues. Good news then that Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning’s Lead Combat Designer, Joe Quadara, is requesting players feedback on the demo. We’ve seen plenty of funny moments in Battlefield 3, but this one could easily be the best ‘WTF’ moment in BF3. Look and behold what happens when a jet get’s stuck on a roof. There was apparently a bug with the collision physics and thankfully, YouTube’s member ‘AnglSummer4’ managed to capture this hilarious moment. Oh, and kudos to the pilot for re-entering his jet at the end and flying away to the skies. Awesome stuff! Continue reading This is perhaps the funniest moment in Battlefield 3→
It’s really funny but BioWare has cleverly revealed something that most Mass Effect 3 fans have been waiting for. Our beloved company released today a Kinect video for Mass Effect 3, in which they reveal that Mass Effect 3’s demo will hit Xbox Live in February 14th. In other words, it is coming in a month or – if you like – in the very same day that Dear Esther is slated for release. Continue reading Mass Effect 3 Demo coming in February 14th→
Oh boy, here we go again. We were delighted to hear that the PC version of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning would be receiving a demo. However, we didn’t know that it would be distributed, exclusively, via EA’s Origin service. So, those interested in giving a go to 38 Studios’ upcoming action RPG will have to install EA’s distribution service. We know that some of you hate Origin, so there you have it; you’ve been warned.
