Top 5 Worst Optimized PC Games Of 2014

2014 was a pretty interesting year. Watch_Dogs was finally coming out, Assassin’s Creed: Unity was planned for current-gen platforms only, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter had everyone hyped with its special techniques, a new Wolfenstein was scheduled to come out, and Dragon Age: Inquisition was aiming to put DICE’s Frostbite 3 engine into good use. And while we’ve seen a number of games hitting both old-gen and current-gen platforms, there were a few that released exclusively on current-gen platforms. Dead Rising 3 – PC Performance Analysis

Well, that was an interesting month. Back in August, we contacted Capcom for a Q&A tech interview about Dead Rising 3 PC. The Japanese company welcomed our request, however things got really weird during these past two weeks. Initially, we agreed with Capcom to publish our interview two or three days prior to the game’s release and while the company was – at least at first – more than happy for such an interview, it never really answered our interview questions. What’s also surprising is that Capcom remained silent and refused to send us a review code for Dead Rising 3 when we requested one. When Capcom announced that Dead Rising 3 was coming to the PC, a lot of PC gamers raised their fist in the air while shouting out loud. And when the Japanese company revealed that the PC version would be ideal for a 30FPS experience, pretty much all of them cursed them for its laziness. Capcom Dropping The Ball: You Can Unlock Dead Rising 3’s Framerate But There Might Be Glitchy Bugs

It’s no secret that Capcom’s PC ports were among the best we’ve seen back in the ‘Lost Planet 2’ days. The Japanese company was among the first to support Microsoft’s DX11 but since then, its ports have been going downhill. Resident Evil 6 – for example – was only running via DX9.0c. Surely things could not get worse, right? Well, get ready for some laughable excuses about the overall ‘experience’ of the upcoming PC port of Dead Rising 3. Dead Rising 3 Spotted On Steam’s Database

Rumor alert everyone. Our reader ‘Inhuman0’ has informed us about a Steam entry from what seems to be Dead Rising 3, that was recently updated (meaning that this is not a mere placeholder). Steam’s registry rarely lies (yes, sometimes it does as Halo 3 is nowhere to be found) but since its info was updated 15 days ago, and there is also a Steam icon for the game.
