Modders are planning to create their own Crysis Remaster in CryEngine 5.6.6, first early screenshots

Crysis Remastered is officially releasing in a few days on the PC. However, it appears that a team of modders is working on its own remaster of Crysis in CryEngine 5. And, even though the official remaster may not be based on the original PC version, this unofficial one will have the original PC controls, as well as the Ascension level. Someone is working on a Far Cry Remake in CRYENGINE 5 that already looks better than the original

Earlier this week, we reported on a Far Cry total conversion mod for Crysis, Far Cry Reloaded. Now I know that some were disappointed with that fan remake as – and even though it’s a fan WIP project – it did not look particularly impressive. However, another Fan Cry remake project that aims to bring Crytek’s classic shooter in CryEngine 5 is currently in progress, and it already looks better than the original version. CRYENGINE developer remakes Metro Exodus scene in CRYENGINE V, using the same assets

CRYENGINE Lighting Artist, Lindemann Matthias, has released some screenshots from his latest Metro Exodus remake project in CRYENGINE V. Now while this is a fan project, it uses the exact same assets that were used in Metro Exodus, thus making it a pretty faithful “remake” to the original material. CRYENGINE 5.2 will fully support DX12, CRYENGINE 5.3 will support Vulkan

CRYENGINE fans, we’ve got some interesting news for you today. According to Crytek’s roadmap, CRYENGINE 5.2 (which will be made available in mid-August) will fully support DX12. Not only that, but the next version of CRYENGINE (5.3) – that is currently planned to be made available in mid-October – will support the Vulkan API. Crytek’s Artists Showcase CRYENGINE With New Beautiful Forest Maps

CRYENGINE V is currently available to everyone and Crytek’s artists have been experimenting with it. Crytek’s Lighting Artist, Damian Stempniewski, showcased a Forest map CRYENGINE V mostly for testing overcast lighting with SVOGI. On the other hand, Crytek’s Principal 3D Artist / Principal Environment Artist, Finn Meinert Matthiesen, showcased the Fog Lighting effects of CRYENGINE. Enjoy!
