Well, it was to be expected. With only $12K and five days left to it, it was a given that West Games’ Kickstarter would meet its goal. After all, the last week is the strongest one for all Kickstarter campaigns. And while it does seem suspicious that $22K were raised in just two days, until someone proves that the last pledges were placed by the developers themselves, there is nothing us, you or Kickstarter can do about it. West Games has released a prototype gameplay video for its upcoming spiritual successor to STALKER, Areal. As the team noted, this is a prototype video that does not reflect the quality of the final product. And while West Games has provided at least something, we strongly suggest being extremely cautious about this Kickstarter (especially after what has happened to Yogventures). Now here is a nice surprise. The official STALKER Facebook page has just posted a statement regarding the latest project that is inspired by this legendary series. In case you’re not aware of, West Games launched a Kickstarter campaign for what is described as the ‘definitive spiritual successor to STALKER‘. Vostok Games, creators of Survarium, claimed that West Games was deceiving gamers with that statement, however the newest statement from the official STALKER FB is definitely not what most of you have been expecting to hear (or read). Survarium Devs Accuse Areal Devs Of “fraudulent claim of being the developers of Stalker or Metro”
West Games has launched a Kickstarter campaign for the supposedly ‘definitive spiritual successor’ to the STALKER series, called Areal. The team aims to raise $50K in the next 29 days, and as you’d expect, this Kickstarter did not pass unnoticed from Vostok Games; the team that has released the MP spiritual successor to the STALKER series.
