Saints Row: The Third – New Update Released

Volition has released a new update for their action and chaotic third person sandbox shooter game, Saints Row: The Third. This new update will be auto-downloaded next time you start the Steam client and comes with some specific Eyefinity correction and fixes, general sound optimizations and other, various fixes. Unfortunately, the release notes do not include any fix about the awful SLI scaling in DX9. Here is hoping now that Nvidia will fix it. You can view the entire changelog after the jump. SWTOR Early Access Dev Update; “Not *everyone* will get in tomorrow”

Stephen Reid, Community Manager of SWTOR, revealed some new information about Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Early Access. According to Stephen, the Early Game Access will officially start at 4AM PST / 6AM CST / 7AM EST / 12PM GMT / 1PM CET today. Emails will be sent around then and no, not everyone will get in and play. In addition, the Forums will be back up for all who have redeemed a pre-order code just before 7AM EST (AKA, Early Game Access start) and the servers that will be up today will NOT be the final ones as the company will be adding more servers during the Early Game Access. Steam’s registry indicates that Alan Wake is coming to the PC

This is huge, this is really huge. According to Steam’s registry, Alan Wake is coming to the PC. Although we don’t have any specific release date, we do know that those registry entries are as valid as they can get. We’ve also captured a screen from this registry entry that can be viewed bellow. In case you were unaware of, Sonic Generations’ PC version was leaked in the same way, so there should be no doubt about the validity of the source. Steam’s registry does not lie, that’s a fact. Fan-made video attempts to show off the Beauty of Battlefield 3

With all the talk about the CryEngine 3, some gamers felt the need to showcase the beauty of the Frostbite 2.0 engine. One of them is YT member ‘AnglSummer4’ we made a nice video, filled with some gorgeous locations from Battlefield 3. Does this show off the beauty of the engine? Well, it’s hard to tell as we’ve seen some pretty amazing maps from the Crysis 2 modding community. Still, Frostbite 2.0 is one hell of an engine and let’s not forget that it will be used to the upcoming sequel of Command & Conquer: Generals. It will also be interesting to see whether or not other studios – that are not under EA’s flag – will actually use it. Until then though, enjoy the following video! injectSMAA v1.2 is now available; Steam games are now compatible with it

We just got word that Andrej Dudenhefner has released a new version for his SMAA injector tool that is compatible with all Steam games. SMAA is a very efficient GPU-based MLAA implementation, capable of handling subpixel features seamlessly, and featuring an advanced pattern detection & handling mechanism. Valve’s writer Marc Laidlaw confirms: “There is no Half-Life 3 ARG”

There has been a lot of speculation these past days about Half-Life 3. And although some thought that the ARG of Half-Life 3 has begun yesterday with Wheatley’s nominee trailer for the VGAs, Valve’s Marc Laidlaw states that there isn’t currently any Half-Life 3 ARG or treasure hunt. GSC GameWorld’s Official Statement: “we will do our best to continue”

As promised yesterday, GSC GameWorld made an official announcement about the fate of STALKER 2. And just a few minutes ago, GSC tweeted that they will do their best to continue. What does this mean though? Does this mean that STALKER 2 will be outsourced to another developer or will a new gaming studio be formed after GSC’s closure? One can only guess. Dustforce – New Action Gameplay Footage Revealed

Independent studio Hitbox Team is excited to release a brand new gameplay video for their upcoming acrobatic platformer Dustforce, set to be released in early 2012 for PC (windows) and Mac. In Dustforce, players swiftly sweep through precarious environments in style. Dustforce originally won indiePub’s Independent Developer Competition along with a $100,000 grand prize.
