PAX East has kicked off and as promised, Blizzard has revealed its new project called Hearthstone: Heroes Of Warcraft. Hearthstone: Heroes Of Warcraft will be a strategy digital card game and will be free-to-play. This title is being developed by a small team of Blizzard, and contrary to other card games, this one features 3D – yet simple – graphics. Torment: Tides of Numenera’s Kickstarter is quite a success and has already been funded (actually it was funded mere hours after the launch of the campaign). With 14 days left to it, inXile Entertainment has been wondering what its ultimate stretch goal could be. And since inXile is so friendly with Obsidian, these two companies came up with a great plan. So, if Torment’s Kickstarter hits $3.5 million, Chris Avellone – creator of the original Planescape: Torment title – will be added to the team. We’ve covered the Brigade Engine in the past, and – as we said back then – we are really looking forward to see what the team behind it can achieve. Our biggest gripe with the Brigade Engine was the noise side effects that were introduced due to the low lighting samples. Back then, those side effects were horrendous. Fast forward a couple of months though, and here we are today with a new video, showcasing what the engine is capable of right now. Thankfully, the noise has been reduced, though it is still noticeable. However, it isn’t as distracting as it was originally so kudos to the team. Not only that, but games similar to Amnesia could benefit from these noise effects. Enjoy the video, courtesy of Hayssam Keilany, creator of the iCEnhancer mod for GTA IV. Nvidia has released a new trailer for PlanetSide 2, showcasing the new PhysX effects that were introduced to it. These hardware-accelerated PhysX effects are said to increase the realism and fidelity of several game elements, adding to the spectacle and drawing players deeper into the action. Particle PhysX effects provide a more immersive experience for the game by adding particles that collide with the environment and litter the environment during battles. Question is whether SOE has implemented those features ideally without decreasing the GPU usage while those effects are enabled. Enjoy! Continue reading PlanetSide 2 – PhysX Trailer→

Gamespot has posted a 10 minutes gameplay footage from Metro: Last Light, showcasing a new area called ‘The Swamp’. Our guess is that this gameplay footage will be available during GDC (or PAX East), and it has scenes from a previous leaked gameplay footage we posted a while ago. It looks great and according to Deep Silver, Metro: Last Light will be one of the best games that we’ll be able to play. Enjoy! Remember the teaser website of Modern Warfare 4? Well, it appears that it was valid as a new poster has appeared (kudos to Insomnia’s Psycho_Warhead for spotting it) today, hinting at an incoming announcement/reveal on March 21st. Not only that, but it seems that four studios are working on it: Infinity Ward, Raven Software, Sledgehammer Games and Neversoft. Naturally, the game will be published by Activision. The poster also indicates that Activision will reveal more during PAX East (or GDC), otherwise there wouldn’t be a poster for just the fan-made movie reveal.
