Why should we not give players the option to experience such a thing? We may not like it, but others may do. So screw us and go ahead and take a look at this! Sonic the Hedgehog In First Person Mode

Sonic
Kotaku has spotted an interesting new video, in which we get a taste of Sonic the Hedgehog in first person mode. This video is similar to the one that was made for Super Mario Bros, though we have to admit that this ‘Sonic’ version feels a bit off. To be honest, Sonic game in first person mode would simply not work, and this video proves that SEGA’s platformer is not meant to be played via any other viewpoint, aside from the classic side-scrolling one of course. Still, it’s a unique concept so go ahead and take a look at least! Continue reading Sonic the Hedgehog In First Person Mode

Enjoy the video after the jump! Continue reading Nvidia Showcases Cloud Based Indirect Lighting At Siggraph 2013

This is what Uncharted 3 – and racing games – could look like in CryEngine 3

CryEngine 3 v2
Ah, the power of CryEngine 3. You know though, it’s really funny. This bloody engine can push some of the most spectacular visuals we’ve seen, yet developers are not taking advantage of it. Guess Crytek is overcharging CE3’s license, otherwise we can’t find any reason at all for not using it. But anyway, modder ‘PianoPolish’ was utterly impressed by Naughty Dogs’ Uncharted and decided to create a map that was inspired by the game’s ‘Desert’ level. On the other hand, modder ‘wjmoosting’ has shared some gorgeous shots from what could easily be a racing game. Furthermore, we’ve included some shots from modders codecode and ReVan1199, as well as a video from YouTube’s member ‘MegaVIDEONATOR’. Enjoy! Continue reading This is what Uncharted 3 – and racing games – could look like in CryEngine 3
