ArtEngine introduces new feature to synthesise PBR materials direct on-mesh, cuts texturing time by 90%

Artomatix has announced a new application of its ArtEngine product for studios that is set to fundamentally change how 3D content is being created, with the news that they now support the synthesis of full PBR materials directly on the surface of a 3D mesh. This allows ArtEngine from Artomatix to cut model texture time by as much as 90% and enables 3D artists to mass produce unique variations of textured models. There is no doubt that Kingdom Come Deliverance had a rocky launch, especially after all the pre-release hype surrounding it. Even though the final product is identical to what was shown in its pre-release trailers, it’s still a great game. And thanks to numerous patches, the game got better. Monster Hunter World does not properly detect the number of CPU cores, one main thread dedicated to anti-debug code

Modder Kaldaien has announced that he will no longer develop his Special-K mod for Monster Hunter World, stating that Capcom’s anti-debug code seriously messes things up for modders. Not only that, but the modder has discovered some pretty interesting details about how the engine handles and uses its cores, and these findings could potentially explain why the game is so CPU-heavy bound.
