We first reported on the Studio Ghibli Mod for Skyrim back in December 2025. Since then, the modder has been working hard on it. And, from the looks of it, the mod has been completed, covering all of the game’s landscapes and towns.
According to the modder, this mod series aims to make Skyrim look like a Studio Ghibli game. And I know that some will just say that this is a “cel-shaded” filter. But hey, this is how the modder describes it so we’ll go with that.
There are currently two AIO mods that you need to download to transform the whole game. The first one covers Skyrim’s landscapes. This includes textures for trees, grass, rocks, plants, roads, and more. The second covers all of Skyrim’s towns, farms, dungeons, forts, clutter, and more. You can download them from here and here.
All in all, these two mods will allow you to experience Skyrim with a completely different art style. Some will hate it, while others will love it. Personally, I find it cool. But that’s just me.
Speaking of Skyrim Special Edition, here are some other mods for it. Let’s start with some big fan expansions that add new free content to the game. The first one is Wyrmstooth. Wyrmstooth will add new quests and dungeons to the game. Then there is this mod, which brings elements from The Witcher games into Skyrim. Dragon Hall Tavern is a huge 2GB mod that adds quests, new places, an arena, and more. Then there’s Land of Vominhem, Apotheosis, and Legacy of the Dragonborn.
Don’t forget to also check out this Castlevania-inspired mod. Modders have also recreated the classic PSX game, MediEvil, in Skyrim. Shumer and the Priest Kings is another DLC fan expansion mod with over 200 locations and 180+ quests. You can also download these Call of Duty and World of Warcraft mods. Oh, and here is another one that adds the cool Nemesis system from Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor to it. Sigil of the Fallen is another DLC-sized fan expansion. Lastly, we have this mod that adds six new islands to explore.
And that’s not all. Skyrim has other mods that add lots of cool stuff.
For instance, this mod allows you to destroy a lot of objects. You can also download this mod that makes the NPCs smarter. With this mod, NPCs will now have a dynamic AI system, and they’ll seek cover. Let’s also not forget this mod that adds a dynamic sanity system. SkyPal is another must-have mod. This mod brings Skyrim and Pokemon together, allowing you to become a Beastmaster.
In January 2026, we shared a mod that added support for NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 and AMD FSR 4.0 Redstone. Unfortunately, this is a paid mod. Thankfully, though, Community Shaders adds support for DLSS 4, XeSS, and FSR. These are free to everyone.
Then we have this mod that adds a real-time dismemberment system. There is also an 112GB Mod that remasters all 32,000 textures to 8K.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
