This is what a LOTR game would look like in CryEngine 3 – Mind-Blowing Fan Project Resurrects Balrog

Lord of the Rings fans, get ready to wet your pants. Modder ‘The_Distiller’ has released a new video from his LOTR ‘Balrog’ Cinematic Scene that is being created with CryEngine 3. To put it simple – this cinematic is really, really close to the real deal and showcases how powerful CryEngine 3 actually is. What’s also great is that Balrog looks almost the same with the CG version that was featured in the LOTR movie. This is not the final version of the video, so we’ll be sure to keep you posted. ‘Find The Source’ Is Perhaps The Best Black Mesa/Half Life Tribute You’ll Ever See

Now this is how you create mind-blowing tributes (or trailers). Pedro Calvo has created an amazing video tribute to Black Mesa, with Joel Nielsen’s music and Victoria Teunissen on vocal duties (Connor Pelkey has also halped in creating this video with his Voice Engineering skills). And quite frankly, this is the most beautiful tribute we’ve ever seen. It’s emotional, Victoria’s voice is great, Joel’s music is outstanding, and the whole video feels so warm and calm. Now this is how trailers should be made. Forget those dubstep crap. This is art. Let us also remind you that Black Mesa Source is currently planned for a September 14th release. Enjoy! Dogfight 1942 – Arcade Explosion Trailer

City Interactive has released a new trailer for Dogfight 1942. Dogfight 1942 is a fast-paced, WWII air combat arcade game that features three unique game modes — Dogfight, Survival and Campaign — each offering plenty of action that is easy to jump into. In designing the game, City Interactive implemented incredibly intuitive controls to reduce the need for lengthy tutorials and allow any level of gamer to get up and running. At the same time, the gameplay remains extremely competitive so that even the most ardent flight game fan will enjoy a challenge. ‘Only In Battlefield’ Video Entry Pays Tribute To The Rumored Dinosaur DLC

There were a lot of rumors for a Battlefield 3 Dino DLC when the game was released. Battlefield fans kept dreaming for the moment they could fight a T-Rex, as there were some things hinting at such a DLC. Of course and we are talking about the dino easter eggs, as well as some custom wallpapers that were made by the developers themselves. Unfortunately though, here we are today without any Dino DLC in our hands. Of Orcs and Men – Behind The Soundtrack Trailer

Focus Home Interactive has released a behind the scenes video for Cyanide’s upcoming RPG, Of Orcs and Men. Of Orcs and Men benefits from music composed by Olivier Deriviere (Alone in the Dark, Obscure) and performed by the talented Boston Cello Quartet, a quartet of cellists from the Boston Symphony Orchestra. According to the publisher, more than 20 original tracks have been created for the game, with the ambition of perfectly complementing the dark-fantasy universe of Of Orcs and Men.
