For me, there is nothing like taking a break from all the cover-based shooting, open worlds and stealth mechanics with a well-crafted first person shooter. These games are like the taking shots at the bar: They may not be as fancy as wine or as intricate as a cocktail, but they are hard, fast, and guarantee a night to remember! Do you have too much happiness in your life? Are you tired of uplifting adventure? Then have we got the game for you! Act now and you too can witness Lara Croft go from gaming legend to insufferable whiner! Awesome, right!? Continue reading Shadow of the Tomb Raider Review: Lamentable Lara
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey – Review
Assassin’s Creed found its way to us way back in 2007, inspired by the Prince of Persia series. Since then, it has come a long, long way with the latest iteration bringing about some of the most extensive changes to date. I have been a fan of the series since the first game. Not all of them have been great, some not even good, but there have been many for me that were a fantastic and memorable experience. So much of what makes these games great for me are the setting they’re in, and I love the architecture, history, the myth and lore of Ancient Greece. Throw that in with a massive open world RPG concept and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it.
Dragon Quest XI – Review
Back in the 80’s when Hollywood still cared about Val Kilmer and mullets were a conscious fashion statement, software entrepreneurs noticed a growing market in Japan for role-playing, computer games based on Dungeons and Dragons. They decided to give Japanese game designers a crack at the genre and, in a flash, JRPG’s were suddenly all gamers at the time could talk about. Continue reading Dragon Quest XI – Review
Deliver Us The Moon: Fortuna – Review
Did any of you ever want to become an astronaut? I didn’t, I am afraid of heights unfortunately. Still, if anyone ever had the wish then this might be the game for you. This is a completely linear game. Actually this could have been Isaac’s adventure from Dead Space but without the dead part. The story is OK, nothing really original but what is lately? Basically you are humanity’s last chance for survival, as usual. Your mission is to investigate the loss of communication with the lunar base which is responsible for supplying power back to earth since humanity has exhausted all available power resources. Continue reading Deliver Us The Moon: Fortuna – Review
Valkyria Chronicles 4 – Review
Nowadays we are often overwhelmed by speed. There’s instant access to the world’s knowledge, and advertising is nearly unavoidable. Sometimes we feel like we can’t truly listen and connect with other people, and maybe we feel like there’s little time for even ourselves. Continue reading Valkyria Chronicles 4 – Review
CrossCode – Review
The international launch of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991 was a watershed moment in the evolution of video games. While Nintendo already had a respectable roster of exclusive intellectual properties from their 8-bit years, it was the SNES’s jump to 16-bit that memorialised their most influential mascots in our childhood memories. Life is Strange 2 – Episode 1 Review
This is the first of the five episodes and let me tell you Dontnod knows how to make a compelling story. To be honest I did not enjoy Vampyr but the first Life is Strange was great; meaning the devs should probably stick with this particular genre, at least in my humble opinion. Of course the first game was nothing original as Dontnod “borrowed” the recipe from Telltale and the basic story idea from the movie Butterfly Effect, but it doesn’t really matter as the game was very enjoyable. Life is Strange 2 also looks like a very good game; I have no idea if the following episodes will be good but the first one was awesome in my opinion. Continue reading Life is Strange 2 – Episode 1 Review
Monster Hunter World Review
I’ve always wanted to play a Monster Hunter game, so naturally when I heard Monster Hunter World was coming to the PC I was super excited; both as a PC gamer and someone who has always been curious about the series. In fact after seeing the positive reception on consoles, the game was quickly becoming one of my most anticipated titles of 2018. Continue reading Monster Hunter World Review
