As we’ve said numerous times, we believe that ray-tracing is the future of lighting in video-games. While there have been some attempts in various tech demos to implement a fully ray-tracing rendering system, we haven’t seen any triple-A game featuring it. And from the looks of it, we won’t see such a thing anytime soon. According to NVIDIA’s president in Brasil, Richard Cameron, we need 100 times more powerful graphics cards to achieve this. Automaton has announced that its multiplayer first-person shooter, Deceit, is now free to play. In Deceit, players wake up in an asylum to the sound of an unfamiliar voice, surrounded by five others. Back in August, we informed you about a prototype version of a fan Half Life 2: Episode 3 game in Unreal Engine 4. Created by Trebla Freeman, this prototype featured a simple map map and a working gravity gun. And as we suspected, this Half Life 2 Unreal Engine 4 fan game is too much for a single guy. Ever wonder what He-Man Unreal Engine 4 could look like? Well time to find out. Character Artist and Animator, José Johansson, has created this really cool scene in Unreal Engine 4. He-Man is made of 80K polygons and it took Johansson almost 3 weeks to complete the scene. Johansson also used 4K textures so he could achieve good quality textures for closeups.
