It appears that Monster Hunter World, while a commercial success for Capcom on the PC, has really damaged the company’s image, something that may affect its newer titles. Jim Raven and a team of modders have released a new version of their unofficial community patch for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. In case you weren’t aware of, this unofficial patch re-balances many aspect of the game in order to make weak guns, skills and other gears that you’d always toss, don’t pick up or don’t use a viable option. RAGE 2 will not support mods at launch, may support them in future
Similarly to DOOM Eternal, RAGE 2 will not support mods at launch, though there is a chance that this game will also support them post-launch. Let’s not forget that RAGE 2 is developed by id Software and Avalanche Studios; two companies that were really open to mods in their previous titles. This No Man’s Sky NEXT mod improves performance by 30% at the expense of objects pop-in
Modder ‘Lo2k’ has released a pretty interesting mod for No Man’s Sky NEXT. The NoFade FPS Booster mod removes the fade effect and improves performance by up to 30% at the expense of objects pop-in. What this basically means is that you’ll get severely pop-ins of objects (like plants, rocks, mountains, etc), but then again this mod may be the only solution for those facing performance issues. DOOM Eternal will not feature a SnapMap Editor, may support mods in the future
It appears that DOOM Eternal will not support mods in any form at launch. During a Q&A session at QuakeCon 2018, game director Marty Stratton said that the game will not launch with a SnapMap Editor and that there is no guarantee that the game will support mods. Future Bethesda games may not be exclusive to Bethesda.net and could appear on Steam
At QuakeCon 2018, Bethesda’s Pete Hines told IGN that although Fallout 76 will be exclusive to Bethesda.net, their future titles could be released on Steam too. Although Hines did not confirm whether DOOM Eternal or RAGE 2 will come out on Steam, he did say that only Fallout 76 has been announced as an exclusive to Bethesda’s launcher.
