World of Warcraft Battle for Azeroth patch 8.1 will significantly improve CPU multi-thread under DX12

As we’ve reported back in, Blizzard has added DX12 support to World of Warcraft Battle for Azeroth via patch 8.0. However, it appears that the initial DX12 results were not that ideal as DX11 was still outperforming it. Instead of sitting idle, though, Blizzard decided to improve CPU multi-thread under Microsoft’s latest API and its upcoming patch 8.1 will bring significant performance improvements. First Intel Core i9 9900K gaming benchmarks published by Intel, appear to be misleading

Intel has published the first gaming benchmarks for its new Intel Core i9 9900K processor, however it appears that these benchies are a bit misleading. These benchmarks were contacted by Principled Technologies and the games that were tested were: Total War: Warhammer 2, Far Cry 5, Assassin’s Creed: Origins, Civilization VI, Rainbow Six Siege, PUBG, Rise of the Tomb Raider, WoW: Battle for Azeroth, Fortnite, Forza Motorsport 7, Ashes of the Singularity and Counter Strike GO. Shenmue 1 & 2 Remaster beta patch 5 available, fixes lip syncing, improves controls and more

SEGA has released a brand new beta patch for Shenmue 1 & 2 Remaster. According to the release notes, this fifth beta patch improves the MIDI playback for various instances of background music, improves the controls while playing HangOn and Afterburner II, and fixes various issues with lip syncing. Call of Duty Black Ops 4 may support mods, Treyarch will look at adding support post-launch

Treyarch has announced that while Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will not support mods at launch, it will be looking at adding support after the game’s release. Treyarch claimed that it really values the mod community, though it has not 100% confirmed yet whether Black Ops 4 will indeed support mods or not. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will not work on CPUs that do not support AVX [UPDATE]

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey has been officially released, however it appears that this latest open-world game from Ubisoft will not work on CPUs that do not support AVX. This basically means that the game will not launch at all if you are using an older Intel or AMD CPU that does not support it. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey appears to be selling well on Steam, surpassed Origins concurrent players

It appears that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is selling well on the PC platform. According to Steam’s statistics, its highest concurrent player number has already surpassed the one for Origins, hinting at a better overall launch.
