The Coalition has released the October 14th Title Update for Gears of War: E-Day and shared its full patch notes. So, let’s see what this new update brings to the table.
Going into more detail, the October 14th Patch improves performance and stability on PC, Xbox, and handhelds. It also fixes memory issues that could cause crashes or slow the game during long play sessions.
The update fixes several login and account issues. It also improves the friends list and Social Menu. Anti-cheat tools have been improved, too. Players can now turn off the sound that plays when they find a collectible in the campaign. The game also uses smaller text for online error reports.
It’s also worth noting that the October 14th Update fixes many campaign bugs. Some players could lose progress in their War Journal or fail to get rewards. These have been fixed. Co-op play also gets fixes for lost progress.
Several missions had bugs that could stop players from moving on. These include foes that could not be killed, fights that would not start, and a boss that could fail to return to the fight. The update also fixes bugs with switches, lifts, and other mission tasks.
Split-screen play gets fixes, too. These include issues that could block progress after a player left or lost control. The update also fixes bugs with foes, weapons, and scenes.
And that’s not all. The update fixes many bugs in Horde Siege. For instance, some foes could turn invisible or get stuck. In some cases, the boss Corpser could not be killed. That has also been fixed. Plus, the update fixes bugs with the Medic’s gear, ammo, and sound effects.
Other fixes affect goals, enemy waves, and the end of a match. Players should now be less likely to get stuck or have a match fail to end.
It’s also worth noting that the October 14th Patch fixes several issues in Versus. Bombs in Demolition will no longer get stuck or stop working. Some guns had bugs with melee hits or reload bars. This has been resolved, too. Other fixes cover hit markers, spawn protection, and player movement.
Finally, the update also fixes issues with scoring, ribbons, revives, and map zones. Also, players should no longer be able to control some zones from outside them.
As always, Steam and the Microsoft Store will download this update the next time you launch their clients. Below, you can also find its full patch notes.
