Watch_Dogs – Modders Partially Enable Parallax Occlusion Mapping, Still A WIP Project

Our reader ‘Dirty Dan’ has shared with us an image, showing parallax occlusion mapping being used in Watch_Dogs. In case you didn’t know, POM was used in a number of screenshots prior to the game’s release, but was disabled in the final version. Dirty Dan was able to partially re-enable it, though as he told us this is still a premature attempt. It will be interesting to see whether this effect will be properly re-enabled but until then, enjoy the following image showing this feature in full effect. Project CARS Will Support 12K Resolutions, Will Pack The Largest Track Roster

Bandai Namco has released a new official trailer for Slightly Mad Studios’ Project CARS. Project CARS will be coming to PC on March 17th, and the publisher has also listed the game’s key features. According to them, Project CARS will pack the largest track roster of any recent racing game, a fully dynamic weather and TOD system, support for over 40 different wheels and peripherals, and support for both 12K resolutions and Oculus Rift. Sid Meier’s Starships Announced, Coming In Spring 2015, Announcement Trailer Unveiled

2K Games and Firaxis announced today Sid Meier’s Starships. Sid Meier’s Starships is a new turn-based, adventure-driven interstellar strategy game, and is coming to PC, Mac and iPad in Spring 2015. 2K Games has released an announcement trailer – as well as the first artworks and screenshots – that can be viewed below. Dying Light – Here Are The PC Graphics Options, Features NVIDIA GameWorks Effects

Dying Light is almost upon us and Guru3D’s member ‘Kezen‘ has shared an image showing the game’s PC graphics options. As we can see, PC gamers will be able to adjust Textures/Shadows/Foliage/FX quality, enable/disable NVIDIA’s Special Effects, and increase the map size of Shadows up to 4096. Naturally, there are also options for VSync and Refresh Rate, though there is – as expected – no option to adjust FOV. Dying Light releases next week. Enjoy and stay tuned for more! Grey Goo Gets Spectacular Cinematic Launch Trailer, Releases Next Week

Grey Box and Petroglyph have released an amazing cinematic launch trailer for their upcoming real-time strategy game, Grey Goo. This trailer does not feature any gameplay footage, so don’t get so excited about it. Grey Goo releases on January 23rd, and will be playable at this year’s PAX South event.
