Unreal Engine 5.2 Burned Dead Forest Tech Demo Released

MAWI United has released a brand new amazing Unreal Engine 5.2 tech demo that PC users can download right now. This tech demo features a 2sqkm procedural burned forest that users can freely roam.

According to the team, this tech demo takes full advantage of Unreal Engine 5’s Lumen and Nanite techs. The entire 2sqkm forest is made up of billions of Nanite triangles of custom photogrammetry scanned trees, plants, rocks, debris etc.

Similar to the previous tech demos, this new one pushes current-gen hardware to its limits. For instance, NVIDIA’s RTX 4090 was unable to offer constant 60fps in 4K on the Unreal Engine 5.1 Dune Desert Landscape Demo.

You can download this new UE5.2 tech demo from here. Those interested can also download MAWI United’s previous demos from herehere and here.

Have fun!

  1. burning is meh but burned looks pretty good actually. rest of those demos are totally meh. forest in that “island” looks like crysis 1 or worse lol

  2. CryEngine 5.7 puts UE5 to shame and runs better doing it. Nanite is a crutch but apparently not a good enough one. I wish we got more CryEngine games, but they don’t have the budget to bribe in devs like Epic does. Sad.

    1. Agree, todays landscape of UE4 games stutter fest shows how bad it is when gaming only comprise of one engine for all.

      1. Yes that’s basically it. UE is an arena shooter engine that they have tacked on stuff like nanite to in order to try and be an open world engine too and it ends up being too bloated for an optimized shooter but still not really optimized for open worlds. Jack of all trades and master of none.

  3. “Similar to the previous tech demos, this new one pushes current-gen hardware to its limits.”
C’mon, there is differrence between unoptimise demo and pushing current gen hardware, John
