call of duty ghosts extinction

Activision has just released the official reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Ghosts’ Extinction mode. Extinction will be an all-new 1-4 player cooperative game mode, featuring a unique blend of fast-paced survival action, FPS base defense, scavenging and class leveling. Think of it as Call of Duty meets StarCraft, because that’s basically what seems to be. Indie Developer Sells His House In Order To Fund His Game

Spark Rising

Okay, this definitely caught my attention. In the latest press release for his indie title, Spark Rising, John Lee, founder of Wicked Loot, revealed that he had sold his house in order to fund the development of it. With the rise of Kickstarter, Lee has also launched a campaign in the hopes of getting some more help in order to finish it. And even though this campaign is close to hitting its initial goal, there are only 57 hours left to it. Continue reading Indie Developer Sells His House In Order To Fund His Game

PC Exclusive “Reset” Gives Us A Taste Of What Next-Gen Visuals Are Meant To Be

Reset

When Theory Interactive released its debut trailer for Reset, a lot of people could not believe the image fidelity achieved by this indie title. How could an indie title rival all other triple-A games? Was that even possible? Well, today we got the first gameplay trailer of Reset, proving that what was showcased a couple of months ago was not pre-rendered stuff. Yes yes, there is noticeable aliasing and unfortunately the flashlight does not cast shadows (something that hopefully will get addressed). Apart from that, though, everything else is as good as that amazing debut trailer. Enjoy! Continue reading PC Exclusive “Reset” Gives Us A Taste Of What Next-Gen Visuals Are Meant To Be

Call of Duty Modern Warfare: Sunrise Is A Surprisingly Well Made Fan Film

Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 v3

Guillermo De Oliveira has just informed us about a new short fan film – created by him and Javier Esteban – based on Activision’s acclaimed shooter, Call of Duty. This fan film, called Modern Warfare: Sunrise, is surprisingly well-made, polished and with good acting. I can notice some slight delay in the dialogues, but that’s a nitpick IMO. In this short, captain Price and Soap are called to kill – or capture alive –  Alexander Petrovich, a man who has been working with Makarov. Enjoy! Batman: Arkham Origins – SweetFX vs Vanilla Comparison

Batman Arkham Origins v3

As we said in our Performance Analysis, Batman: Arkham Origins looks great for a multi-platform title. However, the inclusion of TXAA brings an additional layer of blurriness that Nvidia users have to deal with. Well, not anymore. Thanks to SweetFX, PC gamers can enjoy crisp graphics, even by using this blurry AA technique (that does an amazing job at eliminating jaggies mind you, so there is still a reason to actually use it). In order to overhaul the game’s visuals, we added a bit sharpening, boosted the game’s shadows and retained its dark atmosphere, added more color to give it a more cinematic look, and enhanced the lighting system. The end result is – at least in our opinion – great and makes the game look way better than its vanilla version. Continue reading Batman: Arkham Origins – SweetFX vs Vanilla Comparison

Nvidia’s ShadowPlay Got Leaked – Record Your Playthroughs The Nvidia Way

Nvidia

Nvidia’s ShadowPlay service is planned for a worldwide beta launch tomorrow, however it seems that the application got leaked a day prior to that date. Spotted by NeoGAF’s member ‘Sethos’, this application lets you record your playthrough via Nvidia’s GPUs. The upside of this method is that the performance hit of it is significantly smaller than the one witnessed with FRAPS. The downside is that ShadowPlay records up to 20 minutes and does not provide a RAW file. Continue reading Nvidia’s ShadowPlay Got Leaked – Record Your Playthroughs The Nvidia Way
