EA on Visceral: had to “cut the bridge when you realize you can’t really make a lot of money on something.”

After what has happened with Star Wars: Battlefront 2, things are not looking well for EA. And things will not get improved in the near future as its chief financial officer, Blake Jorgensen, has made some pretty bold statements. During a presentation at the Credit Suisse 21st Annual Technology conference, Jorgensen claimed that EA had to close Visceral because its Star Wars game would not make a lot of money. Dead Space 2 now has proper raw mouse input/controls thanks to this mod

Methanhydrat has released a brand new mod for Dead Space 2, offering true raw mouse input. As the modder noted, Dead Space 2 suffered from negative mouse acceleration issues. In addition, its sensitivity was tied to its framerate, resulting in really awful controls once the framerate was dropping. Visceral Studios’ Star Wars game to be re-designed, studio is closing down

Electronic Arts has announced that it is closing down Visceral Studios. Visceral Studios was the team behind the Dead Space series, and was working on a brand new action adventure Star Wars game. Unfortunately, though, EA decided to restart this Star Wars project with a new team, and is shutting down Visceral Studios. New concept arts revealed for Visceral’s Star Wars game

During the Star Wars Celebration Panel, Electronic Arts and Visceral Games revealed some new concept arts for Visceral’s Star Wars game. According to Visceral Games, this new Star Wars game will be released in 2018 and will feature an original Star Wars story with new characters, new locations and creatures. Visceral Games did not reveal anything else, but we’re pretty sure that Star Wars fans will find these concept arts interesting. Enjoy! Electronic Arts and Visceral have announced that Battlefield: Hardline’s Gateaway Expansion will be made available next month to all Battlefield: Hardline Premium members. Battlefield: Hardline – First Patch Detailed

Visceral Games has revealed the changelog for Battlefield: Hardline’s first update. According to the changelog, this patch will nerf its drivable couch, will pack miscellaneous low frequency crash fixes for all platforms, and will increase the character limit in the MapList to support up to 150 maps in a rotation. Battlefield: Hardline Plagued By “Tages-Like” DRM, Game Locks Due to Hardware Changes

Back in 2012, Ubisoft was criticized for the DRM system used in Anno 2070; a really annoying DRM that locked the game whenever there was a certain number of hardware changes made to a computer (like changing your graphics cards). Obviously, this draconical DRM frustrated everyone and it appears that Visceral’s latest Battlefield game is plagued by a similar DRM.
