THIEF – Stories From The City Part #2 Trailer

Square Enix and Eidos-Montreal today released the second trailer in a series of stylized videos that focus on the rich narrative and characters of THIEF’s corrupt and broken city. As the press release reads, each trailer in the series tells a story from the perspective of a different character describing life in the broken, repressed City that is being ravaged by the ruthless Baron Northcrest and the mysterious sickness known as ‘The Gloom’. Thief – Five Minutes Of New Gameplay Footage Unveiled

Our reader ‘Kind Weaverson’ has informed us about a new video containing five minutes of gameplay footage from Thief. Originally posted by GameOne, this new video gives us a glimpse of what EIDOS Montreal has in store for us. A couple of weeks ago, we had the pleasure to interview EIDOS Montreal’s Jean-Normand Bucci who shared with us some new information about the PC version (as well as the console versions) of THIEF. Thief Will Not Feature Any Kind Of Quick Time Events

Now this will definitely please a lot of – mainly old-school – gamers. In its latest Community Q&A, EIDOS Montreal revealed that there will be no QTEs (quick time events) on the new Thief game. Dishonored’s missions are similar to the ones found in the Thief and the Deus Ex series

In a IAMA discussion at Reddit, Dishonored’s Co-creative Director, Harvey Smith, revealed that the game’s missions are inspired and based on the ones that were featured in two of our most favourite stealth video games, Deus Ex and Thief. Therefore, Dishonored’s missions in terms of depth, combination and flexibility will be identical to the ones from those two classic and beloved FPS games. Enjoy Thief 1, 2 and Deadly Shadows with upgraded graphics via some Texture Packs

Thief Gold and Thief 2 have been added recently on Steam. As you may have guessed, these titles look quite dated but thankfully, there are some Texture Packs for them and our member ‘RipNard’ has informed us about them. According to RipNard, Steam uses the DDFIX mod for both Thief 1 and 2, but it seems it has an older version. Those interested can download the latest version from here. Remember when we predicted that Thief would be coming on Good Old Games? And it’s true that we were kind of disappointed when we found out that the hidden hero that was hinted in GoG’s announcement was not Garrett, but we knew that he would find his way to CD Projekt’s distribution service.
