Doom Eternal has been delayed until March 2020, Doom 64 releases on the same day

Bethesda has just announced that Doom Eternal will now release on March 20th, 2020. According to the publisher, this extra time will give id Software enough time to further polish the game. In addition, Doom 64 will come out on the PC on the very same day, and will be a pre-order bonus for Doom Eternal. Doom Eternal’s primary focus is to increase player engagement, won’t feature deathmatch to keep players “happy”

In an interview with GamesIndustry, id Software’s Hugo Martin revealed that Doom Eternal’s main focus is to increase player engagement. And while this may be a cool way to improve the game’s single-player experience, I am a bit worried about its MP mode. Oh, and let’s not forget that the game will feature micro-transactions. Doom RTX released; mod bringing real-time ray tracing to the classic Doom game via the Vulkan API [UPDATE: Fake]

Modder ‘doom_rtx’ has released a mod that all owners of NVIDIA’s Turing GPUs will appreciate. As its title suggests, Doom RTX brings real-time ray tracing effects to the first Doom game. The modder has used the Vulkan API and you’ll need at least an NVIDIA RTX 2060 in order to run it.
