Gearbox’s Borderlands is perhaps one of the best cartoon-ish games. Borderlands uses a different technique for its cartoon-ish like visuals than cel-shading, but the final result is pretty close to it in our opinion. Needless to say that we don’t think there is something wrong calling Borderlands a cel-shaded game (as that term is used metaphorically to describe all cartoon-ish games with outlines), but that’s just us. Did you know, however, that the game had – originally – a more realistic look to it? Gearbox has revealed Aliens: Colonial Marines’ bonus content for those who pre-purchase the game from Gamestop. Players we decided to do so will receive the Exclusive Competitive Multiplayer Pack, with which they’ll be able to fight for their squad’s survival and confront hordes of enemies as the original ALIENS film icons Private Hudson, Corporal Hicks, Private Drake and Sergeant Apone. SEGA has released two new PAX Prime 2012 screenshots for Gearbox’s upcoming aliens game, Aliens: Colonial Marines. In addition, Randy Pitchford told Kotaku that the game will feature female characters. After the online controversy about this subject – and an online petition – Randy confirmed that the multiplayer mode will feature a whole range of both male and female characters, all of which can be customized. 2K Games and Gearbox Software announced today that Borderlands 2 will offer four brand new add-on content campaigns following the release of Borderlands 2 for X360, PS3 and PC. These four add-on content campaigns will each feature several hours of gameplay and introduce new adventures, allies, enemies and environments. SEGA Europe and Gearbox Software today announced Escape mode, a new competitive multiplayer mode, for its highly anticipated blockbuster Aliens: Colonial Marines video game, launching February 12, 2013 worldwide. With a competitive death match game mode already revealed earlier in the year, Escape mode is the second in a number of competitive multiplayer modes for Aliens: Colonial Marines and will challenge players in an intense scenario against the universe’s deadliest killers, the Xenomorph. 2K Games has released a new trailer for Borderlands 2, that showcases Gamestop’s pre-order exclusive bonus content. Borderlands 2’s Creature Slaughter Dome tasks players with facing waves of Pandora’s creatures in an arena. Players will gain experience and gear, and they’ll be able to bring their gained loot back into the main game. Although this content is exclusive to Gamestop’s pre-orders, we expect to see it hitting the Net after the game’s launch in the form of a DLC. Enjoy the trailer after the jump! Now this is a really promising mod for Borderlands. YouTube’s member ‘nolahornets394’ has released an interesting mod for Borderlands, called PokeBL. As the name suggests, players can capture animals with this mod and ‘call’ them while they’re fighting. This package includes custom pokeball grenade mods for 10 different Skag variants, with the “Mutt” seen in the following video being a Corrosive/Fire/Shock hybrid skag.
