Dishonored is one of our most anticipated titles of 2012. The game is under the direction of co-creative directors, Raphael Colantonio, lead designer on Arx Fatalis, and Harvey Smith, lead designer on Deus Ex and looks quite promising. Players will take the role of a supernatural assassin, Corvo, that is framed for the murder of the city’s Empress and according to the developers, their actions – through out the game – will have a huge impact on the game’s ending. Arkane Studios hopes that next-generation stealth games will feature better player perception/awareness

Arkane Studios is one of the few that are pushing the stealth – and melee – gameplay elements to their games. It’s been a while since we got Deus Ex: Human Revolution, a game that offered a variety of gameplay mechanics and thankfully, Dishonored seems to be the next big thing for all those seeking a game with varied gameplay. Although there aren’t many developers focusing on stealth mechanics, Arkane Studios’ Raphael Colantonio believes that the upcoming stealth games should feature better player perception/awareness. And naturally, their upcoming FPS called ‘Dishonored’ looks even more interesting than both of those two aforementioned titles. In a recent video interview with Gamespot, Arkane’s co-creative directos Raphael Colantonio and Harvey Smith revealed some interesting new details about it. Continue reading Dishonored promises to be a crazy combination of BioShock, Deus Ex, Thief and Assassin’s Creed

Dishonored – Five New Screenshots

Okay, we do have high hopes for Dishonored. The game is developed by Arkane Studios, the minds behind Arx Fatalis and Dark Messiah of Might & Magic so it’s only natural to get excited about their latest offering. However, we are a bit concerned. As you can see in the following latest screenshots, the FOV seems a bit tight and there is some heavy use of blur post-proccess effects, two things that most PC gamers hate. Does it look good? Sure it does but will the PC version suffer from ‘consolitus’? We hope not. Either way, enjoy the screenshots after the jump! Continue reading Dishonored – Five New Screenshots
