F2P “theHunter” Gets A Multiplayer Mode, Alpha Testing Registrations Open On April 8th

Avalanche Studios announced that its gorgeous looking free-to-play title, theHunter, will be getting a multiplayer mode in 2013. Although the company did not reveal much, we know that the alpha testing registrations for this new mode will open on April 8th, and you can view a new trailer for it – that is focused on this new mode – below. Moreover, each game of this new mode is said to feature up to 8 players, and its first iteration is strictly co-op. A couple of minutes ago, we informed you about the ‘closure’ of Lucas Arts. Okay, the studio is not closing down but we might consider it dead as it will no longer be developing new titles. Lucas Arts had in store a pretty amazing Star Wars game that pushed the Unreal Engine 3 to its limits. However, that game was nowhere near close to a playable level and according to Avalanche Studios’ founder, it needed another two years to be completed. Christofer Sundberg, Founder of Avalanche Studios, has shared an image in Instagram from one of the unannounced games that are currently under development in Avalanche. From the looks of it, this could be the first image of Just Cause 3. But then again, we can see a bike and the main character kicking in the air. Road Rash anyone? We already know that Avalanche Studios is working on three triple-A games. In fact, this information was revealed last February. The team behind the amazing mod that promises to add a multiplayer mode to Avalanche Studios’ sandbox game, Just Cause 2, has announced that it will be initiating a new beta test this weekend. Naturally, everyone who downloads the beta client – and has a copy of the game – will be able to participate on it. According to the timer, the beta test will start in 1 day and 8 hours. Avalanche admits that the lack of a multiplayer mode in Just Cause 2 was due to budget reasons

Avalanche Studios, the team behind Just Cause series and Renegade Ops, revealed that Just Cause 2 would have a multiplayer mode, provided the company had more budget and extra time on its hands. As Avalanche boss, Christofer Sundberg, unveiled, the company has always thought about adding an MP mode to Just Cause 2 but that was pretty hard to be implement when the game was under development. However, Sundberg confirmed that the next part of the Just Cause series will feature an MP mode from the get-go. The Just Cause 2 Multiplayer team revealed that they’ll be running a new Multiplayer test for Avalanche’s sandbox game, Just Cause 2. As always, this test is open to all gamers who own Just Cause 2 (and have downloaded the game’s MP mod) and will start on Saturday 6PM AEST (4AM EDT, 1AM PDT, 10AM CET,8AM GMT).
