AMD Teases New Ruby Tech Demo With A New Image

AMD has released the following image that can be considered a teaser for a new Ruby tech demo that has been under development for quite some time. This new Ruby tech demo is powered by CRYENGINE and takes advantage of TressFX tech. We’ve shared some images and videos from this Ruby tech demo in the past, so we are really curious whether AMD has managed to increase its IQ, and whether it will support Mantle. AMD Is Confident That Battlefield 4’s Mantle Update Won’t Be Delayed To February

Well, you gotta admit that what is currently happening with Battlefield 4 and AMD’s Mantle is… interesting and hilarious. An update for BF4 that would bring support for AMD’s API was planned for a November December release, however it got delayed to January. January is almost over and according to some reports, this patch is supposedly delayed to February. However, AMD’s PR for Radeon & Gaming, Robert Hallock, is confident that this patch won’t be delayed. AMD Shows Off THIEF Running On A Radeon R9 290X At 5400×1920

AMD has released a new video, showcasing Square Enix’s THIEF running on a Radeon R9 290X at a mind-blowing 5400×1920 resolution. This tech demo was used to demo the company’s new APUs, and five monitors were used that were running the game at native 1080p. Grand Theft Auto V Profile Returns In AMD’s 13.30Beta Drivers

Zol.com.cn (chinese website) has leaked some slides from AMD’s upcoming Catalyst 14.1 Beta driver. AMD’s Answer To Nvidia’s G-Sync Tech Is Called “Freesync”

Man, this “gen-battle” is going to be really interesting. Nvidia vs AMD. Android support versus consoles support. TressFX vs PhysX. And G-Sync versus FreeSync. AnandTech has revealed that AMD’s answer to Nvidia’s mind-blowing G-Sync tech is called “FreeSync” and does not require any hardware modifications at all. AMD TressFX 2.0 – Technology Overview & Analysis Video

RedGamingTech has posted a new video about AMD’s TressFX 2.0. According to AMD, this newer version of TressFX comes with better performance and easier integration into games. In addition, TressFX 2.0 can be used for other things besides hair, like grass and fur. Last but not least, TressFX 2.0 will offer – in optimal scenarios – 2X the performance of TressFX 1.0 and will feature a better LOD system.
