AMD Catalyst 15.3 Beta Driver Released, Adds AMD Freesync Tech Support

AMD has released a new beta driver for its graphics cards. The AMD Catalyst 15.3 Beta add support for AMD Freesync technology, includes new Crossfire profiles for a number of games (such as Project CARS, Battlefield: Hardline and Total War: Attila) and improves other Crossfire profiles (for games like Assassin’s Creed Unity, Alien Isolation and Ryse: Son of Rome). Dawn Engine – First Screenshots Revealed Showcasing AMD’s TressFX 3.0

At this year’s GDC, AMD and Square Enix showcased Dawn Engine; the new engine that will be powering the next part of the Deus Ex series. The slides from that GDC session has just been posted online and below you can view the first tech images from Dawn Engine, showcasing AMD’s TressFX 3.0 technology (the fourth images does not seem to be from Dawn Engine, though we decided to include as it shows off TressFX 3.0’s new Fur support). New AMD Presentation Slide Reveals Details about R9 390X – Supports DX12_3, Packs 8GB of VRAM

A new AMD presentation slide hit the Internet a couple of hours ago, leaking some new interesting information about AMD’s upcoming high-end GPU, the R9 390X. According to the slide, AMD’s R9 390X will pack 4096 shader units, will support DX12 up to Tier 3 (in other words, DX12_3) and will feature up to 8GB of VRAM (basically meaning that we might get an initial 4GB version and afterwards a new updated 8GB version). Rumor: DirectX 12 May Offer SFR & Multi-GPU Support Between NVIDIA & AMD GPUs

Tomshardware has reported an interesting rumor that – if it’s proven to be legit – may change everything we know about multi-GPU configurations. Similarly to AMD’s Mantle, DX12 may offer support for SFR; a technique via which developers will be able to manually, or automatically, divide the texture and geometry data between the GPUs, and all of the GPUs can then work together to work on each frame. In short, it will also let developers take full advantage of the available VRAM found in multi-GPU setups. And while this is great, it’s not what really excited it us about this latest DX12 rumor. NVIDIA Is Working On A New Driver Update For GTX970, AMD Mocks NVIDIA’s False Advertising

And that was to be expected. After this whole controversy surrounding NVIDIA’s GTX970 VRAM issues, AMD released an image in which it makes fun of it. AMD Catalyst Omega Driver Will Feature New Downsampling Option, Will Offer Significant Performance Boost

The first details for AMD’s upcoming new Catalyst driver have been unveiled. According to various reports, this new driver will be called ‘Catalyst Omega Driver’ and will come with AMD’s own downsampling option. Similar to DSR, AMD’s solution is called VSR (Virtual Super Resolution) will allow gamers to super sample their games, rendering them at up to 4K quality before being downscaled to a lower resolution monitor.
