Aliens
Gearbox has released the first title update for its Aliens: Colonial Marines game. According to the changelog, this update comes with various performance and general user interface improvements, fixes collision issues and fixes some Single Player and Multiplayer issues that have been reported. Unfortunately, no AI tweaks for all of you so here is hoping that Gearbox will address it in a future patch. You can view the complete changelog (for all platforms) below. Aliens: Colonial Marines – PC Performance Analysis

Aliens Colonial Marines v2
Well, we kind of saw that coming. Back when Gearbox and SEGA showcased Aliens: Colonial Marines, we were worried about its direction. Everyone was expecting Aliens: Colonial Marines to rule their world and instead of that, they got a big letdown. In fact, here is what we wrote back in December: “I seriously hope that this new Aliens game will surprise me pleasantly, though I’m a bit disappointed from what I’ve already seen”. We could bash this new Aliens game, but then again this is not a Review for Gearbox’s title. Though to be honest, its gameplay mechanics are similar to those of other FPS titles, so it’s kind of bizarre witnessing websites and magazines bringing the hammer down on this Aliens game, when they have been enjoying this type of games and have been giving high scores to such titles this whole time. But anyway, let’s see how Aliens: Colonial Marines performs on the PC platform. Continue reading Aliens: Colonial Marines – PC Performance Analysis

SEGA: Aliens: Colonial Marines SP was not outsourced to TimeGate Studios

Aliens Colonial Marines
Playnews – an independent news agency that focuses on the games industry – has informed us about an interesting statement from SEGA’s senior producer, Matthew J. Powers. According to the news, Aliens: Colonial Marines primary development has not been outsourced to TimeGate and Gearbox Software was not responsible just for the game’s multiplayer, Sega of America’s Senior Producer Matthew J. Powers confirmed to Playnews on Tuesday. Continue reading SEGA: Aliens: Colonial Marines SP was not outsourced to TimeGate Studios

Aliens: Colonial Marines Is Going Down, Primary Development Handled By TimeGate Studios

Aliens
Back when Gearbox revealed the first gameplay footage of Aliens: Colonial Marines, I was a bit sceptic about it. The AI of Aliens looked horrible, there were lots of uninspired scripted events (and not in the same level with – let’s say – those of AVP2) and the graphics were average at best. Of course Gearbox stated back then that it was beta footage, but we all know that – in this time of age – beta footage equals to almost final footage. Fast forward a couple of months and here we are with an Aliens game that looks like a failure. Aliens: Colonial Marines – Kick Ass trailer

Aliens Colonial Marines
SEGA has released a new trailer for Gearbox’s upcoming Aliens game, Aliens: Colonial Marines. This trailer focuses on the game’s story and showcases how badass marines can actually be. It looks cool, though we kind of wonder whether acid will be as deadly as it was in all previous games (especially since there are a lot of QTE in which we can almost taste the acid blood of the aliens). Aliens: Colonial Marines is planned for a February 12th release on PC, X360 and PS3. Enjoy! Continue reading Aliens: Colonial Marines – Kick Ass trailer

Aliens: Colonial Marines – PC System Requirements Revealed + New Trailer

Aliens Colonial Marines
SEGA and Gearbox today unveiled the official PC system requirements for their upcoming aliens game, Aliens: Colonial Marines. According to the publisher and the developer, PC gamers will at least need a dual-core CPU with 2GB of RAM and 20GB of free hard disk space. Quite surprisingly – and contrary to Aliens vs Predator – Aliens: Colonial Marines won’t support any DX11 features, as it seems that it is a DX9-only game. Otherwise, Windows XP would not be included in the Recommended specs. Here is hoping that Gearbox will surprise us. The good news here is that the game also supports Windows XP. Aliens: Colonial Marines is planned for a February 12th release on PC, X360 and PS3, and you can view its PC system requirements – as well as a new TV commercial for it – below! Aliens: Colonial Marines – Story Trailer

Aliens Colonial Marines
SEGA has released a new trailer for Aliens: Colonial Marines that focuses on the game’s storyline. I seriously hope that this new Aliens game will surprise me pleasantly, though I’m a bit disappointed from what I’ve already seen. Lots of scripted events everywhere and an awful AI make this a title that needs further polishing before rolling it out. Let’s hope that Gearbox will not disappoint us on this. Enjoy! Aliens: Colonial Marines – New Screenshots

Aliens Colonial Marines
SEGA has released a new set of screenshots for Gearbox’s upcoming Aliens game. Aliens: Colonial Marines promises to bring new levels of bone-chilling suspense and adrenaline-filled action to the renowned franchise. Unfortunately, from what we’ve seen so far, this new Aliens game might not be what true fans have been waiting for, especially due to the bad AI and the underwhelming combat mechanics. Let’s hope that Gearbox will be able to polish things before the game’s release. Enjoy! Continue reading Aliens: Colonial Marines – New Screenshots

Aliens: Colonial Marines – Survivor Trailer

SEGA has released a new trailer for Aliens: Colonial Marines, showcasing the MP Survivor mode that will be featured in it. In Survivor Mode, there are four marines against a lot of aliens that can be respawned. The goal of this mode is simple; survive for as long as you can. It looks interesting and has an Aliens feel to it, so be sure to check it out. Aliens: Colonial Marines is currently planned for a February 12th release on PC, X360 and PS3. Enjoy!
