World of Warcraft climbs back to 7.8M subscriptions, Diablo III hits 15M sold copies
Activision Blizzard today announced better-than-expected financial results for the fourth quarter and calendar year 2013. The company revealed that as of December 31, 2013, Blizzard Entertainment’s World of Warcraft remains the #1 subscription-based MMORPG, with approximately 7.8 million subscribers. Infinity Ward and Activision have released a new patch for Call of Duty: Ghosts. This update comes with a variety of fixes, however it does not optimize the PhysX Fur effects that were introduced via an earlier update. Activision has released a new trailer for the first episode of Call of Duty: Ghosts’ Extinction mode that will be included in the upcoming Onslaught DLC. When the scientists lose control – during the Nightfall Program Operation that has been researching the origins of the “Alien” threat – a small team of elite soldiers must retrieve the intel, exterminate hordes of hostile creatures, and survive a three-story tall terror unlike anything they’ve faced before. Man, what a blow. Activision’s license for games based on Marvel’s characters and universe has expired and it appears that a lot of games have been removed from all digital stores – Steam included.
Diablo III: Reaper of Souls Coming March 25th
Blizzard has unveiled that Diablo III’s expansion, Reaper of Souls, will be coming to the PC on March 25th. This information comes straight from the official website, via which you can pre-order both the standard and the digital deluxe edition of Reaper of Souls. According to its description, Reaper of Souls will require a copy of Diablo III – in other words it won’t be a standalone expansion – as well as an Internet connection and a Battle.net account. Call of Duty: Ghosts – New Update Released On All Platforms
Activision and Infinity Ward have released a new update for Call of Duty: Ghosts on all platforms. According to the release notes, this patch improves performance issues caused by spamming and comes with fixes for various hacks including “invisibility” and “god mode”.
