The Darkness II – FOV Patch is coming in the next weeks; 2K Games’ Q&A team is testing it

A few days ago, we informed you about Digital Extremes’ intentions to look into the FOV issue for the PC version of The Darkness II. Back then, we didn’t know whether or not the team was working on a patch to address it, so we are delighted to tell you that the team has already implemented it via a patch that is currently in testing phase. 2K Games’ Q&A team is currently testing the FOV slider and hopefully, the patch will go live in the coming days or weeks. The Darkness II PC Performance Analysis

The Darkness II has just been released on the PC, and it’s time to see how Digital Extremes’ little baby performs on our beloved platform. Some of you might be initially disappointed with the fact that the game is not developed by Starbreeze, developers of the first part, but from what we’ve seen so far, The Darkness II performs amazingly good on a lot of PCs and is quite friendly to low-end PC configurations. This is not surprising at all as the game uses Digital Extremes’ in-house engine, the Evolution Engine, that was used to Dark Sector, a third-person  game that was also well optimized. The Darkness 2 – Digital Extremes is looking into a FOV option for the PC version

Dear developers and publishers, start taking notes; Field of View is really important to all PC gamers. Yes, your game might look awesome in consoles and on TV’s, but on a PC monitor, it does not. Part of that is due to the distance between the gamer and the TV/monitor. That distance is reduced when gaming on a PC – that is not hooked up on a HDTV – and a low FOV setting can cause headaches to a lot of your customers. We get it, a small FOV is a clever way to gain more performance from current-generation consoles but there should always be an option for it in the PC version of your games. 2K Games and Yager Entertainment released a new, in-game trailer for Spec Ops: The Line. Spec Ops: The Line unfolds within the destroyed opulence of Dubai. Once the playground for the world’s wealthiest elite, Dubai has fallen victim to a series of cataclysmic sandstorms. The city’s ultramodern architecture lies half-buried under millions of tons of sand. The very sand that blankets the city plays a marquee role in altering combat situations and serves as a powerful but unpredictable force that will both help and hinder players throughout the course of the game. 2K Games and Gearbox Software announced today that The Doctor Who Cloned Me, a brand new downloadable expansion pack for Duke Nukem Forever that includes a wealth of single- and multi-player content,is now available for $9.99 via PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3 and for 800 Microsoft Points via Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360 and Windows PC. 2K Games announced today that Spec Ops: The Line, the modern military shooter that combines thrilling combat with a thought-provoking narrative, will be released during spring 2012. The Darkness II – Artfully Executed Trailer

2K Games released a new trailer for their upcoming FPS game, The Darkness II. Currently in development with Digital Extremes and based on the supernatural horror comic book series created by Top Cow Productions, The Darkness II promises to deliver a brutal and personal narrative as gamers take control of Jackie Estacado.
