Modder ‘galagandaniloff’ released some new glorious screenshots for the new version of his RTX Remix Path Tracing Mod for Need for Speed: Carbon. These screenshots will give you a glimpse of what V0.3 aims to achieve. So, if you are an NFS fan, you should definitely check them out.
What’s interesting here is that this is the second RTX Remix Mod for Need for Speed: Carbon. In February 2026, we shared the RTX Remix Mod for this game, created by modder ‘xoxor4d’. However, that version has not received any new updates since then. So, this upcoming version from galagandaniloff may be the best way to re-experience NFS: Carbon.
Sadly, there is no ETA for when Version 0.3 will come out. However, you can go ahead and try its previous version. Alternatively, you can download and use the mod from xoxor4d.
From what I know, EA has put the NFS franchise on ice. This means that we won’t get a new Need for Speed game anytime soon. So, arcade racing fans can solely rely on mods to replay the older NFS titles. And, thankfully, we already have RTX Remix Mods for some of them. None of these mods is finished yet. Even so, they can already let PC players enjoy these classics with much better graphics.
If you want to play older games with Path Tracing, you should try these mods. For instance, you can find such mods for Black Mesa, Star Wars Republic Commando, Need for Speed Carbon, NFS: Underground, and Manhunt. You can also find more for BioShock, NFS: Underground 2, Star Wars Jedi Outcast, and Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines.
And that’s not all. Modders have released demos for their Path Tracing Mods for Deus Ex, Mirror’s Edge, and Tomb Raider. And then we have the RTX Remix Mods for Painkiller and Left 4 Dead 2. Unreal Tournament 2004 and Unreal Gold have also gotten the path-traced treatment. Half-Life fans can also play the game with Full Ray Tracing/Path Tracing. A demo has also come out for a Path Tracing Mod for Duke Nukem 3D. Then we have the beta release of the Dark Souls 2 Path Tracing Mod. Lastly, you can download these amazing Path Tracing Mods for Doom, Doom 2, Quake, GTA 4, and Serious Sam. These last ones are among the best Path Tracing Mods you can find. So, don’t skip on them.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
