Another week, another weekly PC charts. As we can see, both Space Marine and Dead Island have managed to stay at the top of the UK PC Retail and Steam Digital charts respectfully. However, while Dead Island is at the first place of digital charts, it lost 4 places in UK and Deus Ex: Human Revolution remained at the same place. There are some minor changes in UK’s retail chart but nothing noteworthy. You can view the entire charts after the jump. Call of Juarez was one of my most beloved games. Back in the days of DX9, the game featured spectacular visuals and incorporated some unique ideas. Moreover, it was a quality Wild West game, and we didn’t have one since… Outlaws. It basically filled a gap and became even prettier with a DX10 patch that Techland released afterwards. It seems though that the company didn’t realize the reasons behind CoJ’s success. Either that or they became gritty – like most others – and wanted to appeal to a wider audience. The result was a sequel that was inferior to its prequel and a third part that has nothing to do with the series. It could easily be a new IP franchise instead of a Call of Juarez game, but I guess Techland needed the name to trick and sell the game to the fans of the series. Hard Reset’s preview code was great, that is something we have to admit. However, there was a big concern while playing it; could a company announce and release so quickly a highly polished game? Apparently not as Hard Reset is plagued by two major issues that have a negative impact to the whole gaming experience. It ends before it even starts and there is a limited type of enemies. Tom Antos released today a new live-action short film that is based on Bethesda’s Skyrim. This video showcases a dragon’s hunt and although it looks good, it lacks a bit polishing here and there. The sounds are also a bit underwhelming but overall, it’s sweet and shows that there is great potential for an actual live-action mini series. Check it out after the jump.
