DICE has entered the Dark Side – Lied to gamers about Battlefield 3’s Mod Tools

Remember back in July 2011, when DICE claimed that Frostbite 2 was too complex and that was the reason why they did not release mod tools for Battlefield 3? Well, they were lying. We knew back then that there was something fishy but our guess was that DICE decided to lock Battlefield 3, because the release of those mod tools would ruin their DLC plans. We were partially right, as the company had planned BF3’s DLCs long before the game’s launch. However, it seems that there was and another reason that forced DICE to lie when it came to the game’s modding tools. THQ Apologises For Shoddy Darksiders 2 PC Port

Now that’s a nice surprise. THQ’s community manager Mat “Sledgehammer70” Everett apologised for the shoddy PC port of Darksiders 2. According to earlier reports, Darksiders 2 would feature a configuration file, as well as graphics options and (keyboard and mouse) controls for PC that have been tweaked specifically for PC gamers and are not tacked-on console controls. Well, it seems that none of these have made it to the final PC version and THQ felt the need to apologise to PC gamers for this. Continue reading THQ Apologises For Shoddy Darksiders 2 PC Port

KUNOS Simulazioni trashes Codemasters’ claims – Only 5% of Gamescom racers didn’t use a cockpit view

Who can forget Codemasters earlier claims about its fanbase? Apparently noone and since KUNOS Simulazioni attended this year’s Gamescom, they decided to trash those claims. According to the company, only 5% of its Gamescom visitors (hundreds of people driving ten hours/day) did not use a cockpit view while testing Assetto Corsa. Funny that those stats trash Codemasters’ claims, right? But then again, even though Assetto Corsa is a pure sim racing game, it does not provide THE ultimate race experience that GRID 2 will offer. In fact, Codemasters is considering replacing all cam views with a replay cam, as this will be the super-duper-uber-oh_God_it_is_so_real experience that can come closer to the TV racing broadcasting. Jokes aside though, Assetto Corsa looks amazing and you can view below some gameplay footages from Gamescom 2012. Enjoy! Racing Games Never Looked This Good – New Project CARS Community Screenshots

Slightly Mad Studios has released a new set of screenshots and I’m currently drooling all over my monitor. It’s really hard to believe that Project CARS is still in alpha phase and looks this good. As always, all shots show purely in-game footage that has not been made in any special photo mode with no post-processing or filters that aren’t available during the actual gameplay. And as the company states, creative users can make usage of various tools, including a free roam camera and a depth of field editor, making Project CARS the perfect choice to create stunning videos or screenshots like the ones below. Enjoy! Continue reading Racing Games Never Looked This Good – New Project CARS Community Screenshots
