Weekly CryEngine 3 Gallery [August 19th – 25th]; CryEngine 3 Videos/Teasers Overload

We were a bit disappointed this week by CryEngine 3’s community, as there weren’t a lot of screenshots from the works of the on-going projects. Truth be told, it’s August and some of the modders are on vacations, but still… we were expecting for something more. Fortunately though, we have a number of videos and teaser trailers from some CryEngine 3 projects. Therefore, enjoy the screenshots from modders mystichobo, themodman101, Puppy, scumm, Arthurwalter and JohnBart, as well as the videos from CrydaVinci, TheDistiller, jaalt0, Fafaxounette, wjmoosting and KingBadger3d. This is what a Pokemon game would look like in Unreal Engine 3

We seriously can’t believe there is noone taking advantage of Unreal Engine 3 (and CryEngine 3). Okay, there are plenty of UE3 games but when was the last time you saw something unique? Something out of the ordinary? Something besides another brown-ish shooter game? Something like Mirror’s Edge perhaps? Well, time for a slight change. Christian Davis, Associate Environment Artist at Junction Point Studios, has created a high quality model of the Blastoise Pokemon. Naturally, Davis felt the need to test his model on UDK and the following image was the result of that. And damn, does this looks impressive. Davis used UDK’s Foliage Showcase, which means that all assets other than Blastoise and the pokeball are property of Epic Games. Enjoy! Inversion was initially meant to be a console exclusive. Although Saber Interactive had previously released a great PC game (like Timeshift), the studio decided – during Inversion’s early development cycle – to only release it on consoles. Back in July 2011, a rumor arose, suggesting that Inversion PC was already under development. It took Namco Bandai a while to confirm this rumor and in March 2012, the company officially announced that Inversion would hit PC this Summer. Fast forward a couple of months and here we are with its PC version, a version that looks better than its console counterparts, performs better, scales great on multi-GPUs and is packed with some of the best physics we’ve ever seen.
