Project CARS Showcases Next-Gen Visuals; New Community Screenshots Unveiled

Slightly Mad Studios has released a new set of community screenshots for its arcade/sim racer, Project CARS, that shows off a variety of cars and tracks racing at day & night. As always,  all shots show purely in-game footage that has not been made in any special photo mode with no post-processing or filters that aren’t available during the actual gameplay. Man, things got out of hand with The War Z. Yesterday we posted a lengthy feature for it, and here we are today with another news story for it. Sergey Titov, The War Z’s executive producer, has spoken to both GameSpy and PCGamer. In his first interview with GameSpy, Sergey sounded like a complete… well… you know what. Thankfully, it seems that Sergey has realized how foolish he was for acting like that, and finally admitted that it was their fault for misleading people over the Steam release of The War Z. Company of Heroes 2 Fully Supports DX11, First DX11 Screenshot Released

Relic has revealed – via the FB page of Company of Heroes 2 – that its upcoming strategy game fully supports DX11. According to the company, the Essence Engine 3 has full support of DX11 hardware tessellation, meaning that snow will have true deforming depth when units walk or roll over it. Relic has also promised groundbreaking visuals and has released a new DX11 screenshot that can be viewed below. Company of Heroes 2 is planned for a 2013 release on the PC. Enjoy! THQ Is Going Down, Assets Acquired by Clearlake Capital, All Scheduled Titles Still On Track

THQ today announced that it entered into an Asset Purchase Agreement with a “stalking horse bidder,” affiliates of Clearlake Capital Group to acquire substantially all of the assets of THQ’s operating business, including THQ’s four owned studios and games in development. The sale will allow THQ to shed certain legacy obligations and emerge with the strong financial backing of a new owner with substantial experience in software and technology. Reset – New Spectacular Screenshots and Trailer

Back in April, we informed you about Reset, a Single player co-op first person puzzle game with emphasis on story and atmosphere. Reset looked stunning and better than anything we’d seen so far. Fast forward a couple of months and here we are today with a new tech trailer and screenshots for it. Even though the water is static on this tech demo, we have to say that the lighting system looks so… real. In all honesty, Reset could very well be the most impressive PC title – in terms of visuals – surpassing even Crysis 3 or other triple-A titles.
