Get ready for some bad news. IGN has decided to shut down 1UP and Gamespy. Naturally, some may say “Hey, this is good news for you guys. Less competition means more viewers coming at your site“. However, that’s not really the case and we don’t want to look at this from a competitive perspective. Gamespy was a legendary gaming portal and it saddens us that it will be shut down. Those interested can download it from Nvidia’s GeForce website. Naturally, if you have already downloaded – via other means – there is no point in re-downloading as nothing has been changed; the benchmark that was leaked yesterday was the real deal and not an early version of it. I’ll have to be honest; when I saw the concept art of the Europolis city for Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey, I was amazed. This piece of work looked similar to CDPR’s Cyberpunk 2077, therefore I was expecting something truly amazing. Instead, what we’ll be getting is a cyberpunk city that looks flat and lacks major effects (such as fog and proper reflections), with a lighting model that looks average at best. I know, I know; shame on me for criticizing prototype footage but here is hoping that developers will actually use this criticism in order to overhaul this promising environment. In case you were unaware of, Europolis is one of several large, free-roaming, fully explorable locations in Dreamfall Chapters. Fact is that Elemental on PC looked more impressive and more beautiful than its console counterpart. But let’s take a look on a comparison between these two versions, shall we?
